WA feel and look, my personal thoughts

I don't get along with the new WA.
Besides I lost all my connections, blog post are now new blog, an other stuff.
Not sure what to think of it.
It might be only me and it might not interested anyone, still I like to express my view. lol

I guess I could get use to all these changes, if I would see a benefit or two. Right now I only see work, work in learning all over and start from scratch so to speak.

What I always like on WA was I could get a personal respond from Kyle, when I choose to contact him. Unlike other places for paid membership sites. And the respond was personal, he took time to read and respond to what I wrote, something you don't find often and one of the main reasons I am still around today.

Hey JR. Change is something that is hard to swallow and believe me there are some "links" missing in the Open Education project framework that we are working diligently in the background to provide. The look may not be what you are used to but the new platform has provided us with a number of things that the old system did not.

1 - Interaction - interaction between members is unparalleled in OEP vs the old. there are more conversations, more help, more support

2 - Notifications have helped response time 1000%. By this I mean that when someone asks a question, they get answers FAST.

3 - Training - Training center is a billion times better if you use the search. We are working on some pretty neat stuff too that will further integrate the training to the system so that you don't have to go out and SEARCH for it.

4 - Success - I've seen more websites being created since OEP (April 4, 2012) then I have in the past 6 months, more articles written, more blogs about successes.

In regards to Followings - Your old "BUDDY" list meant nothing because it was not integrated into the system. Your "PERSONAL" feed here at WA is actions of people you follow only. We toggled over keeping the old buddy relationships but for some people with 1000's of buddies, their personal feed would not be "personal" at all. If you spend some time you can go through and follow anyone you want and re-build your old buddy list.

Change sucks any way you look at it because you become used to something and then BAM one day it's different. In the case of the Open Education Project it is vastly different. This new platform gives us the foundation the support our plans for 2012 and beyond. The old system would not allow for this growth and expansion of our ideas and direction. Everyone here motivates Kyle and My decision making processes and we make change to better the community and education that we are providing.

I hope that as you integrate yourself into the OEP platform you start to like it a bit more :)

Can understand your frustration. Change is never easy but it will get better. And you're right - the personal touch provided by Kyle and Carson makes a difference.

Expressing your view and opinion IS important J-R and I think everyone finds change somewhat difficult.

Personally, I'm really liking the new look and feel of WA. Where I fall short (and I realize it's an issue I have - not an issue with the new interface) is I'm not comfortable asking questions in "blog/post" format. The questions are displayed front and centre on the dashboard where as in the forum they had a "specific area" designated. It felt a little more discrete to me.

As for Kyle, Carson and the members here, I can't agree with you more. I feel that I've found a group of people who understand my dream and are willing to help make it happen.

I really hope you start finding the new WA much easier to get along with.

I'm a fan of the forum, and it's the place I used to ask questions, also answer them when I could. I used it as a way to store information.

The focus is off of the forum and onto the dashboard with live chat and blogs. It's fast interaction, especially the chat. But it's also dependent on who is logged in at the same time. If you're not logged in often during the day, you can miss an answer in chat. I also appreciate it when Kyle and Carson communicate directly.

Everybody is different, so no matter what changes are made, there will be things you like, and things you prefer the old way. For sure, nothing is static at WA.

I do miss my list of buddies. Trying to recapture them, but there were too many to recall. Maybe having followers and following is WA's way of streamlining the process.

Yes, the focus is off the forum simply because it is a 3rd party Application that takes you AWAY from what is really happening at WA. However, the forum is a VERY, VERY important aspect of Wealthy Affiliate University and we have BIG plans for improvement of how questions and answers work. It's a big project that we are working on and excited about.

I look forward to hearing about the big plans for improvement of how questions and answers work!

Information about questions and answers being integrated into the system will be released closer to when we release this functionality.
