Nice blog Steve very motivational and I admit I have suffered from not being organized and not prioritizing. Thanks for helping me confront one of my weaknesses. Off topic... what do we have to do to get one of those cool WA pens you have sitting there on your journal? Probably double my writing time using one. :)
I started a weekly goal sheet and a reward system recently and every week I work on tweeking it. I try to have balance in my life and 7 areas that I try to do daily; excersise, organize, socialize, learn, earn, clean, and record (journal). I give myself points for everything that I accomplish and with my points I allow myself to get something on my wish list: Cowboy boots, new Ipod touch, Weekend trips, and the big one a trip to Europe. I also have goals specific to days of the week and like you Moday is goal day and I make a quick plan for the week review the monthly and yearly goals. So goals, a checklist and rewards are helpful.
Update Caffeine: Unless you have a genetic mutation that causes slow metabolism of caffeine in the body, in moderation it has more positive health benefits than negative ones. According to both the Mayo Clinic and WebMD, moderate caffeine intake can stave off Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes, dementia, liver cancer, stroke, and some types of heart disease. The principal downside is that 5 to 7 cups of coffee per day may cause agitation and sleeplessness. All things in moderation?
Otherwise, congrats on all your goals. I have no doubt you'll achieve whatever you set your mind to do.
Re: Office Space: When you buy a house, buy one with a garage apartment, or a detached mother-in-law's apartment. Voila! Instant Away-From-Home work place, 10 steps away. ;)
I have only read positive things about caffeine, in particular from coffee and tea being healthy. Some people simply do not have tolerance for caffeine...I personally can't go a morning without it by I limit myself to 3 cups of joe throughout the day.
I gave up caffeine completely 5 years ago and replaced with water, coconut water and fresh juices - don't miss it, sometimes I get tired and that's because I need to sleep! Helps you to understand your body more - good goal Steve!
Give up caffeine entirely...seriously!! I would rather...
Anyways Steve, this is an awesome list and based on your history, I think you are going to achieve all of these goals and then some with "flying colors".
One thing that I may forewarn you about is the "office space". As an entrepreneur there is always a draw to having your own office. It is what others tell us is the norm and what we see as being the norm. It is the norm of the past...really, do you need an office or would you be better off spending that money on your full time employee. I would say a full time employee would be much better off.
Think of all the time you are saving on gas, driving, transportation and how much more productive you can be when you are literally 10 steps away from your office. Every single time Carson and I are drawn into the idea of an office, we think it through and realize how ridiculous the idea is. Unless it makes absolutely sense, don't waste your time or money.
Just my thoughts...
I go back and forth on office space and ultimately decided it's something that I do want. The location that I'm planning on moving to has quite a few local retail shops, and I've done my research and found a number of them rent out the space on the floors above the store for quite cheap.
My intentions are to find other people in similar situations who would be interested in finding office space as well. I wouldn't mind spending a few hundred dollars per month to rent out a close to home, (no way would I find something that I'd have to drive to) dedicated working environment with other people.
Yeah, I agree that in certain situations it can be a good thing...the main one being, that you need it (either for business reasons or your personal sanity). The time when it is not good to move to an office is when you are doing it because it seems to be the thing to do.
A lot of "inspiration" can derive through being transient or being in a different location. That is a big reason I travel and enjoy working from different locations if I feel like my ideas are going stale or need a different environment to influence some creativity.

Best start-up plan, specially for newbies. Doing my yearly goals now. Everyone should begin by creating small milestones and slowly work their way up.
Awesome, I always make yearly goals at the beginning of the year. Although you don't usually achieve all of them, many items that were not on your list get tackled. Remain flexible to your goals and make this a process a weekly one, A LOT can be accomplished in a year.
Exactly. Will be my first blog post when done. Just finished looking through niches, from DMOZ; exciting!
Awesome to hear man, sounds like you are making some good progress!
