My WA Progress Report

i remember when I used to write progress reports for projects as a Project Coordinator back in the early 2000s. It was necessary for evaluation of work done and the planing for the way forward.

I did it then as part of my job description, and I think it is also a good job description here at WA to do so at this point.

I did not think I would be asked to do this as a task, and so it amuses me when I came across this DO part of WA. It is a good way to lead people to success by keeping a self discipline, and it makes me believe more that WA knows what it is doing.

I already wrote a post on my website titled: EARLY EXPERIENCES AT WA (www.selling4them.com). I have pasted the content here below:

( My experience at Wealthy Affiliate (WA) in this early stage is a challenging one, and I believe it is the same with any life enterprise. Life is a challenge, and challenges make success something to cherish when a break through comes along.

It has been sounded loud and clear to me, as I follow the lessons that, patience is needed; so that, I should not quit in the first week of challenges. Hard work has been stressed and proceeds may start crawling in by the third month, and may stand up by the sixth month and start walking in a year's time.

I see a mountain before me to climb to the top within the next year or two and as I plant seeds, and arrange my foot holds, I hope to make it on time. A couple of questions and concerns pass through my mind and I think it is proper to plan on how to overcome them, record them and later on, make an evaluation of my progress. Shall I quit after the first month due to the inability to meet up with premium dues? Shall my niche be able to stand the test of time and bring in traffic that, will convert to earnings? These are some challenges that, I must work at so that, in a years time I can sigh for relief.

ENCOURAGEMENT

Despite the numerous challenges, I find out that, the design of WA affiliate is very appealing to any man or woman that, wants to earn their success. The encouragement at WA is very appealing and real and would cause a feeling of loss if I were to quit.

1. TRAINING: The training courses at WA affiliate are very relevant to success in this modern age of technology. WA packs the best and most advanced technology used to train members and provide them tools to succeed for a price that, is the cheapest online as compared to what they offer including the follow-up up they bring to members for their success. In less than 2 weeks I have received strong foundation classes on how to develop my own website, write content that, can attract visitors through google and other search engine rankings, and learn how to register domains and transfer them from one registrar to another.

2. COST EFFECTIVE: I have looked around on the internet and found that, WA offers a stabilized membership cost which stands at a dollar per day as compared to more than 2 dollars for most web hosting and other sites. Their upgraded membership is one level: premium as compared to a lot of scam sites and Ponzis online, that, offer several levels with huge amounts. Their membership has never been increased for more than 13 years now and yet they offer free web hosting, free keyword research, free website security, free site content writing software, and many more

3. A BUSY COMMUNITY: WA boasts of a community of over 1.2 million members. You just look at the present following of the co-founder Kyle, and see that, it is more that, 1.1 million. What I enjoy about the community is that, it is full of people who make their money through learning and hard work. Everybody at WA is DOING something to earn them income rather than trying to trick people and steal their money. I love to work with real people who do work and seek daily to improve on their skills and find better ways of doing what they do best.

4. PROMPT SOLUTIONS TO CHALLENGES: Every challenge in life has a solution and at WA challenges get solved quite rapidly. Apart from their 25 member technical team working more 60 hours weekly, lots of challenges are offered by coaches and other experienced community members, so that, Site Support does not have to be bothered with each and every little gritty issue. I have experienced this during my few days at WA.

LESSONS LEARNT

I wish to share with you the lessons that, I have learnt in the form of a few recommendations, especially if you are coming into WA newly. At WA I have watched the leaders and notice that, they tell you the truth and allow you to make your decisions. This is the spirit that, inspires me and gives me the courage to put in hard work so that, I can overcome the challenges ahead of me and be on top of the mountain by the second year.

That said, if you are coming into WA, your premium upgrade is less by 65% if you upgrade within your first month of signing up after which it goes up to 49 dollars per month, and you can still save money if you subscribe for a year down to 1 dollar per day.

BUYING DOMAINS

Make sure you get enough advice if you want to buy your domain outside of wealthy affiliate. Their Domain cost is 13.98dollars per year and that, includes every security you need. Other web hosting sites will offer you a range of hosting options and other expenses will never be released to you until your first purchase. You end up to spend the unforeseen.

WA trains you and makes it clear to you what you expect and that, is what you get. You may fall into my kind of experience in which my transaction at WA for a domain name was refused due to security reasons, probably because of the part of the world where I come from, as someone suggested. I did not lose any money however, but it was frustrating and I was eager to have my own domain. I finally got recommendations to buy from other providers which I did, only to find out that, I can not use this Domain at WA until 60 days expire!

Of course, this can dampen the zeal of someone like me who wanted to make good use of my first month at WA, and may not have the funds to go for several Domain names. It is my recommendation that, you contact community members at WA to help you with the process of buying Domains elsewhere other than WA, and make sure you are familiar with the Domain name transfer procedure from other hosting sites to WA before you purchase.

Finally, PATIENCE wins the race at WA as well as in life as a whole. For people who are in a haste, WA may not be the place for you, but remember that, get-rich-quick scams target the hasty online!

For people who need any more help with WA contact me at fonayzichah@gmail.com

Thanks

ACHIEVEMENTS

Looking back at this post, one can correct a lot in terms of summarising, paragraphing, etc.

This write up expressed some of the progress made and challenges faced. To add to these I am including the following achievements so far at WA:

1. My website is up and running, though still raw:

2. I have a domain with Godaddy which is connected to my siterubix.com website. I was forced to do this because sitedomains at WA could not process my transaction. I hope WA support does something to solve this issue.

3 I have published 7 articles in all though wondering of their worth. You can help me with comments at www.selling4them.

DIFFICULTIES

1. The inability to pay for a domain at WA leading to inability to own a professional email address for my website

2. Having had to spend more at Godaddy for a domain

3. I had to switch to the Bootcamp training due to the inability to buy a domain at WA.

In a way, this have me the experience that its good to do all the trainings at WA.

THE WAY FORWARD

I plan to buy another domain at WA soon in order to avoid the extra experiences to activate a domain when it is transferred. This will help me spend less and have my own professional email.

I plan to go through as many lessons as possible before my premium expires for the first month. The next subscription is my great challenging. I am looking for ways to raise the money for that.

I am also looking forward to attracting referrals to make my targeted 100.

I hope I did not just waste your time with this blog post. I need your critical comments.

Thanks.

Hi Isaiah, what a great post you've written here. Not only in content... but experience as well. What I mean is that there is a sincerity and honesty in your writing that draws the reader in and brings them on the journey with you.

I'm glad you're enjoying your time here at WA, despite the challenges.

Also glad you were able to secure a .com domain, but I'm curious if you're spending more with Godaddy because you are also hosting your website there.

It usually takes 60 days to transfer a domain to a different registrar, but you should be able to point your nameservers to Wealthy Affiliate hosting right away.

To better explain... there are two parts regarding domains...

- Where it is registered
- Where it is hosted

... and those two do not have to be at the same place.

For example, I have several sites (including my main site) that are hosted here at WA... but all of those domains are still registered at Godaddy. I bought them from Godaddy (mainly just because I had an account there before joining WA) and it's never been necessary for me to move them to WA.

However, they are "hosted" here at WA which you should be able to do as well without waiting or paying anything extra to Godaddy.

Not sure if I explained that very well, but hopefully it helps 😊

Jay

Hey Jay,
I am so glad to hear from you! You have well explained the point. I also did host my domain at WA but changed it back to Godaddy and then connected my domain to my WA website.
I don't think that was needed though, that is to change my DNS back to Godaddy.
There is one thing that I am worried about. I know I may not have enough money to foot my online bills always but I understand that I can't have a professional email at WA except my domain is transferred to WA?
At Godaddy it is also a cost to have a professional email.
In other words, if I change my DNS at Godaddy to WA DNS can I then have a professional email with WA and my domain still at Godaddy?
Hope I have not bored you, Jay
Thanks
Isaiah
Jay, if you have time pls give my site a critical look: www.selling4them.com

Hey Isaiah, I actually just went over this similar scenario with a client :-) He has a cleaning business and bought his domain at Godaddy. I built his website and hosted it somewhere else. He kept trying to get into his email through Godaddy... but since his site in not hosted at Goaddy, his email is no longer there.

It is with his host.

This is how mine is set up here at Wealthy Affiliate as well.

My domain is registered at Godaddy. Inside of your Godaddy account there's an option to manage your domains. In there you can choose to "custom name servers".

That's where I add WA's name servers, which point my domain at WA.

NS1.MYWAHOSTING.COM
NS2.MYWAHOSTING.COM

Once you do that you can come back to Wealthy Affiliate and choose the "site builder". There are 3 options...

- on a free domain
- on a domain I own
- register a domain

Choose "on a domain I own" and then follow the prompts... one will ask you to enter your domain.

As long as you've correctly added WA's nameservers over at Godaddy, Wealthy Affiliate will recognize that your domain is pointing here and if I remember correctly it shows up in green when you enter it, and you're good to go.

Continue through the prompts and build your site here at WA.

Then (sorry, I know... long winded explanation) :-)

... go to the Site Manager and along the top you'll see a bunch of tabs.

Site Manager, Site Domains, Site Feedback, Site Comments, Site Email, Site Support.

Choose Site Email and you'll be able to add a new email address using your domain. This is your professional email and it's already included in your WA membership... you don't need to pay additional fees to Godaddy.

If you set it up that way, your website will be hosted here at WA and your professional email will be here also. You won't have any additional expenses except your annual renewal fee at Godaddy for you domain (or however long you've registered for... I usually renew my domains for 2 years at a time).

I hope I explained that okay. You should have absolutely NO monthly Godaddy fees.

I checked out your website and it looks fantastic. It's clean, well organized and your content is great. As you go through the training you're site will become more refined, your content will take a definitive direction and you can begin adding categories.

One thing to keep in mind is that Google will eventually see your site in a certain way.

For example... you can build a bootcamp site that has categories for...
- affiliate marketing
- cryptocurrencies
- MLM's
- and money management...

...but Google may only give you good rankings for posts within one of those categories.

These are all sub-catagories within the make-money niche... but there are also "authority" sites out there that ONLY talk about affiliate marketing for example, or ONLY talk about cryptocurrencies.

So it becomes harder to rank if you're trying to tackle multiple sub-categories because in most cases... Google will choose the site that specializes in a specific topic over one that's spread out over multiple topics.

You might even have the best content... it's just that Google isn't quite sure how to categorize your website or predict what direction you're going to go.

There are exceptions to this of course... Extremely high authority sites like Entrepreneur, Inc, Forbes, The Huffington Post, etc. will often outrank a specific website.

I also have some random "lifestyle" pages on my site that for some reason or another, rank well even though they're not entirely relevant to my site's primary audience.

On the other hand... I have some highly researched posts in the 10K word range with infographics, video's etc that are far better than what Google is offering up... but they don't even crack the top 200 search results because although I see a relevant connection to my niche... Google does not. As far as the algorithm goes, those posts don't belong on my website.

This is just something to think about when you're developing a long-term content strategy.

What I do is write 20 or more posts in a particular sub-niche. For example... I'll write 20 posts related to online surveys, 20 posts related to multi-level-marketing, 20 posts related to scams and so on. I give those 3 - 6 months to see which ones move up the rankings and begin generating traffic... that gives me an idea of how Google sees my website.

From there I can focus my efforts in the areas I know Google is already giving me some love.

There's another advantage to this as well... I might have a few pages in a sub-niche that (after a few months) are ranking in the top 2 or 3 spots for certain keywords. These pages are gaining in views, time on page, etc. and acquiring some authority.

If I write additional articles on similar topics I can use those pages for internal linking to pass some authority to my new posts.

Just some ideas to consider as your website begins to take shape.

Anyway... love your site and what you have so far :-)

Jay

Sorry... I've already written a novel here, but I noticed what you've done with your domain (I think).

From what I can tell you forwarded the domain to your siterubix domain here, rather than pointing the name servers to WA and moving your website onto your .com domain. Is that correct?

Waow Jay,
That's something like I wanted to here. I am going straight to follow your instructions.
Once I do I will tell you.
Only we can't seat for a dinner online!
Thanks
Isaiah

That's correct Jay, I will follow your instructions, and see how it goes
I will be back
Thanks a lot
Isaiah

Yes! Jay,
You can see I am excited! It worked good!
WA is truely a caring community.
God will surely reward our hard work and somehow, I should go for a yearly subscription
I am speaking by faith.
Thanks Jay
Isaiah

Hello Jay
And you know what? My domain at WA is now locked! ie https:// instead of http:// as it was at Godaddy where I actually tried to pay additional charges and failed only because my bank could not process the transaction for lack of funds. God was really on my side Jay.
I don't regret coming to WA. I have saved quite some money and headaches! And I now have a brand new sight to work with!
Jay before, I leave you, is there an easier way for me to move content from my old siterubix.com site to my new domain site. It is now blank
God Bless you Jay
Isaiah

Hi Isaiah,
I'm haven't moved a siterubix site over because I had already had a blog when I started at WA and all of my sites have been built on my own domains.

However... check out Kyle's tutorial here I'm pretty sure there is a simple move feature here, I'm just not familiar with it.

As far as dinner online.. I read somewhere recently that a company is working on a virtual reality dinner experience so people from around the world can dine together 😀

Funny
Let's if it works

Hi Isaiah,
Looks like you are making solid progress, WA is the place to learn the skills we need to establish a positive online presence, sounds like you have had a few issues the 60-days domain name things can catch us out, I believe if we approach the registrar they can make an exception.

If you are having troubles making payments, when it comes to the country fields try putting in a country nearby where there are not so many issues. From what I gather it seems to work. Just a little workaround.

Hope that you get things sorted, you will make good progress.

Best wishes,

Thanks, I appreciate your suggestions
