First commission from Fiverr
Last Update: Oct 17, 2022
I wanted to blog about successfully selling my first gig on Fiverr this weekend for $10.
Ever since joining Wealthy Affiliates a few years ago, I’ve not only learned about Affiliate Marketing, but also continued to learn about other possibilities that I could tap into for other sources of income.
One particular skill set that I’ve been hoping to take advantage of is Photoshop. I’ve been fooling around with it for the past twenty years, ever since I first used Photoshop 5.0 back in the late nineties, for random projects, schoolwork and other neat tricks - like placing my head on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s body to convince people that I actually worked out!
Despite years of experience using the software, I felt a bit intimidated at first, thinking that I needed to be a certified Adobe Guru creating my first gig.
However, it’s not anything like that. After much research, I discovered that I didn’t need to know EVERYTHING about Adobe Photoshop. I can simply list my area of expertise, like simple background removal, object removal or Image manipulation and start as low as $5 and offer different packages at higher prices.
Although ten dollars isn't enough for me to quit my day job, it's a start in the right direction, and additional side income, all from putting my skills to good use!
I hope this encourages everyone else to do the same with their skills.
Thanks for reading!
Cool! Using your skills that are just waiting for you to do so is a great way to add income. Wow -- wish you were closer -- I'd have you do the photos of my jewelry for my boutique. It's been a challenge!
I'm thinking there are more jobs that you can find from Fiverr...good for us to know such income is possible.
I think people often make the mistake that you did at first, thinking that we don't know enough to be an expert, when all we really need to do is define our expertise more precisely!

Keep going. My late husband taught me that some money is better than no money at all. Even if it's a buck or two. I tell him it's not enough to buy food with that. He said the it was not his point, because I was a blondie, I didn't get it. He loved to tease me in that way. Years later, I did learn that even if it's ten buck commission, it will continue to build up more and more like what compounding interest does for your money if you invest. Keep building your service on that platform. It will grow. Congratulations, it's a start.
