Happy Father's Day!
Here is a poem from my book. I thought it appropriate for today:
Some People’s Kids
Rickie Allen Wilson - April 14, 2012
My kids are all the greatest
It’s what life is all about
How could life get any better?
“Thank you Lord”, I shout
Our boys are oh so wonderful
They reflect their mother’s love
I know she is so proud of them
Looking down from up above
I too am filled with pride
When I look into their faces
Growing up so smart and handsome
I know they’ll win their races
God help me be the father
To lead them in your way
Lord help us all, we need you
With you we’ll win the day
For our children’s souls we battle
This world with danger’s fraught
If I can help a little
My life shan’t be for naught
Each day I see the damage
Broken homes and families wreak
When I think how much You blessed us
It makes my knees grow weak
My gratitude is boundless
My heart it sings with joy
When I see your hand at work
For every girl and boy
For our sons you moved especial
Your plan took years to form
Amazing how it fell in place
And soon became the norm
I’m glad you’re in control Lord
Without you we’d be toast
The wonders that you worked for us
I just can’t help but boast
Our God knows what He’s doing
It shows in every way
Blessings shower down upon us
Each and every day
Very poignant poem about Dads - thanks for sharing
