Affiliate Marketing is it for you?

So you have decided on starting your own internet marketing business and ready to make a fortune using the WWW as your store. Easy peasy, you can do it! You got all this information and the computer all primed up ready to go.

5 questions you should ask yourself, have you done the following?

  1. Worked out your Niche? After all if you are not interested in Cats, are you really going to start a page about cats? Whats your passion? What could you talk about all day or get excited about? Find that key, maybe start with what you don’t like?
  2. Got a website name or URL? Without this you don’t have a website. Have you looked at what address is a good fit for your niche? If you are going to develop a website about betting a possible name would be gamblinghints.com. And what about the extension? Should it be .com or .com.au or ,co.uk? Well depends on your audience.
  3. Your Audience: Who are they? what are they interested in? Do they share your passion for Donkeys? Or Cars or whatever? You need to know who will be interested in your website. When you know this you can target them specifically with all your information and products you intend to sell
  4. Are you going to be an affiliate where you can sell others products or have your own product or information. Either way you need to focus on one or the other else you may drift to oblivion of division and not having a set direction.
  5. Have you thought about writing regularly about your Niche? Follow up regularly with information, news and views that will interest your audience and leave them interested in the next piece of gold that you give them?
So what do you think? All under control? you know all the information and now are you prepared to put your name in lights and focus on the hoards of people that are present in your niche.

To be honest, I have been working with the internet for a number of years and one of the hardest questions I have ever attempted to answer is “What are you passionate about?” I boggle about trying to work out what I am passionate about and my first answer is usually “having fun.”

So if you can answer all the above questions you are on your way. If you need a hand with any of the above questions then check out this group Wealthy Affiliates here you can get support, ideas and general help about everything that is related to making an income on the internet.

Good luck in your endeavours, and never give up.

I am passionate about a lot of things, but they don't seem to be niches that I could profit in. For example: Sport, Education, Art and Health. Ok, the health one I can see some ways, but the others...I have no idea. It seems I would be better off blogging about weight loss, clearing acne, getting things for free, or making money ...rather than something that actually interests me. Do you have any feedback for me about this?

Hi BCM, I think if you look closely that the one of the greatest niches on the internet today is education. People are hungry to learn about a plethora of subjects. A big one is about making an income, however there are sites about woodworking, car mechanics, etc. Also if you look at youtube and type in any subject you are interested in you will see many videos, some of which are bad, being viewed by hundreds of people. To become an authority in your niche will be, I believe, key to you being successful, getting people to your site and generating an income. Maybe one of your niches may be the difficulty of finding your niche? I know there are a lot of people finding this step the hardest including me. The most important thing to remember in all this is that you are surrounded by souls that want to help. Don't give up, let go and see where the flow brings you. I hope you stay the course and ask more questions. It can only help. Disney had to knock on 100 banks doors to get a loan to build his dream. Keep going BCM. The alternative is to fall back into the ordinary.

Thank you for the time you took to make this thorough answer. I appreciate your supportive words.

No Problem, many hands make light work.
