A Bit OverWAlmed
Hey out there!
Don't get me wrong -- this has been a very positive experience overall.
The community involvement aspect has taken some getting used to, however.
Someone like myself is generally friendly to all at the surface but very private and withdrawn otherwise. People I worked with for over ten years didn't even know I knew how to type, let alone write! They just knew me as the big delivery guy with a warped sense of humor.
Now -- since I've been applying all the suggestions to "pay it forward," I find myself embroiled in all kinds of situations in order to reach out and help others within WA.
This is probably because I truly care how others are doing -- all in this thing together for similar reasons, after all.
But the constant interaction has formed in me what I consider to be an "unnatural" compulsion to keep checking this site and my emails for comments, responses, and ways to lend a hand.
It's gotten to the point where it has infiltrated my dreams (I was struggling with an enraged lioness that had invaded the home, all the while waiting for feedback on how to fight the thing from Wealthy Affiliates!).
I wake up now feeling just as exhausted as I do going to bed.
In short: WA has me feeling a bit overwhelmed -- or "overWAlmed," if you will.
Does this eventually calm down and permit a more stable work/study schedule, or is this simply a side-effect of the program that I must deal with on my own terms and learn how to balance out my time by controlling my impulses to keep reading posts and comments?
I suspect the latter.
Mind you, I was never a big social media dude, so this is all very new and alarming for me.
Any suggestions? Thoughts in general?
Please let me know what your experiences have been with this and how you've handled this issue!
I really could use some rest! haha
Thanx and good tidings to all.

There's only so much you can do. Leave a comment or suggestion. Don't ask for a response - if they are interested they will respond. You can't save the world, and while your caring so much is great, you must keep it balanced as the priority here is you building your site. Don't ever forget that.
I know exactly what you mean, your post describes the feeling very well.
My take on it is; this is the paradigm we've stepped into, actually, it ocurred to me that this level of interaction is kinda preparation for the time we hit the big time. I mean it won't lessen as and when our websites gain traction and we're the guy/gal who's going to be called upon to interact and engage.
The more we do it here, the better we'll be within our own sphere of influence.
Isn't it like anything we at first engage in? At first it seems it's almost too much, then we grow into it. And, after awhile it'll be second nature. I find if I allow things to be as they are, I settle into it.
I salute you for your willingness to share this moment with us. I am sure it's just a moment too, you'll come out the otherside of it the winner.
Cheers James

I do the same thing. It can be a daunting task, however you need to find balance between this and life.
My personal motto is "strive for balance and contentment."
That's why when things get out of alignment, I get a bit stressed -- even if what is out of whack is a good thing.
Just getting my "sea legs" on this new ship, so appreciate all the good reminders and advice and encouragement.
Much appreciated, Jerry!
Good tidings!
