I have a full-on explosion of a new Internet Universe happening in my head!
Hello, Wealthy Affiliate World! Hello all of the World, Hello!
My heart swelled as I read Kyle's message on the Upgrade Welcome page and my head is so full of domain names and ideas and concepts that it feels like it could burst! I keep waking up during the night to scribble new ideas and thoughts down on the pad I keep at the ready next to my bed. I can hardly keep up with myself.
I feel like I could conquer the world yet I am nervous of fluffing it, or failing, but that is part of what being human is all about. Life is often unknown even when we think we know, surprising, frightening, awesomely inspiring and fulfilling, and our mission is to keep going forward learning as we go, growing and uplifting and taking as many others with us as possible.
I am feeling so proud and so grateful to have landed here at WA after almost a ten-year search through this vast Internet Universe for that "Right Course" after realising pretty quickly that the "Make $300 every day on autopilot" promises aren't real and don't work without you doing a hell of a lot to MAKE them work and that is no immediate process and one hell of a learning curve, especially if you haven't grown up with computers!
When one is searching for a bonafide way to make money on the internet, as a Newbie it is really like being out at sea, in the middle of a raging storm with a flimsy boat that isn't very well equipped that you don't really know how to pilot or navigate properly!
How do you find the right information, the right course, the right Guru to follow as well as a place where ALL the tools are there for you, a place where you can learn and get help when you need it as we do here at WA? I have just seen now that as I type this blog on the WA system a draft is being saved automatically without me having to do a thing! I LoVe it! And whereas my computer only did spell checks in French up till now, I now have access to Grammarly. Thank you!
As a keen newbie you are out at sea, not knowing what you DON'T know, so not knowing if what you are looking at is real or not, or what you really need or what your first steps should be and there are a plethora of gurus out there all waiting to get you to try their wares who don't care if you are successful or not. Now imagine your precariously built little boat has sunk in the storm, the lifeboat you did have with you (well done you for being prepared) has sprung a leak and there is not a thing in "site" other than open water all around you. What do you do? You wave your arms, and nearly drown a little quicker, so you start paddling your tired arms again and strain to keep your head just above the unstoppable waves, don't splash too much to avoid the sharks and still keep a desperate look out for help...... and hope that the ship you see coming towards you on the horizon isn't populated by Pirates!!
My first very brief adventure into the Internet Marketing World ten or so years ago (I'm not very good with numbers or time) was cut short just as I was getting started and had just published my very first Squiddoo lens with the help of an incredibly patient internet angel of whom I will speak in posts to come as I need to thank her for the time she spent with a very frantic me back then.
A robbery of my Post Production Facility Offices left me unable to continue operating as a business and scrambling to keep up with the payments for my house, car and company costs, while offloading the company cars, letting staff go, liquidating my company all the while looking for another way to bring in cash to cover the relentless monthly costs that kept rolling in, business or no active business. My Insurance cover didn't pay for the stolen equipment as the alarm on the premises didn't go off when the robbery happened. Yip, it was an inside job (I found out later) as one of our alarm remotes had been stolen by a service provider fitting backup power in the facility the day before the robbery, which enabled them to disable my alarm, walk right in and clear the place out the very next day when I left the building!
I had to take massive action and needless to say I couldn't focus on or rely on my internet escapades, which is what they were at the time, to get me where I needed to be and bring in the necessary money immediately. I couldn't get serious about building campaigns and working for six months before I saw any kind of return and I couldn't guarantee that I would make money quickly, in fact, I could guarantee that I wouldn't as I was an absolute newbie trying to recover from the loss of my business and income while also trying to survive from day to day as a single mom with two kids, without losing anything like the house or the furniture. At the age of 50 I had to reinvent myself and find another interest to pursue that I could create a business from that would bring in the money and keep me in the style to which I had become accustomed, that I could also be happy with. Wow, that was a tall order! But I kept the faith, kept networking and eventually found my way.
After the demise of my Film Production Company and while building my Generic Perfume Business (SCENTilicious - you will see a site soon,) which is what I am doing now and which enabled me over the last couple of years to stabilise and reestablish myself, I have been watching the internet world as Entrepreneurs who interested me have branded themselves, slowly established and expanded their imprint, their persona and their reputation on the internet. All of them are successful, happy and wealthy today, making regular, residual cash while helping others and spending quality time with their families. I want to be there too!
I am now about to change my life totally as I turn in this economically turbulent world, to the world wide web to establish a business into which and through which I can grow, helping people, being of value and living an abundant and meaningful life!
I arrived after lots of searching and confusion, by luck at Wealthy Affiliate and I am so grateful to be here! I am Blessed!
Thanks to you Kyle and Carson and the WA community I have a solid foundation on which to build myself a solid business. Now I just have to master the technicalities and my own self, be persistent, consistent and just DO it!
It is Friday night, and I am sitting at my desk doing my very first post, when by now I would normally be cuddled up in front of the fire watching TV, or out with friends, but I can't seem to tear myself away from the computer. I have a couple of tabs open with training, conversations - there is so much going on that I sometimes jump from one page to the next, coming back to the original page sometimes hours later. Yes, I am ADD, so now I am going to publish this and move on to the next level of certification and do some work!
For now, I am a technical idiot so I can't really help anyone on that score, but I am an absolute lover of life and I live it joyously daily, so if any of you need a little perk up or pick me up because of frustration or whatever, I am here to lend a friendly ear and help bolster you up when you need it and remind you of how awesome you are and how awesome life and it's unlimited possibilities is no, matter what is happening to or around youI Whatever the situation, how You see it will determine what becomes of it so if you need a little lift to the positive side of things when you are feeling weary and low, you know where to find me. It is my privilege to be of help.
I look forward to being a contributing member of this awesome family!
Thank you for welcoming me.
Love and Light.

Hey Hostelgirl, thanks for that. We just have to keep at it and keep each other motivated when we have problems. Have you set up a website yet? I am about to do that tonight. I think you are right, it is all about the spirit and at least we have that.
The skills MUST come if we keep at it. I will follow you -
Let's keep in touch and help each other.
Definitely. My website is still in it's infancy but baby steps, little by little.....I do feel like I am getting there, slowly but surely. :)
I'm just about to start my first one now, it took me hours to find a domain name I wanted and liked. I must go and check yours out.
No, don't yet, please! That scares me! Much more work to do. Xx
