Lions and Tigers and Drones, Oh My!!!
I just watched the segment about drones on 60 Minutes. I personally think the possibilities are exciting to contemplate, despite privacy concerns. While the regulators are trying to figure out how to regulate, meanwhile, drones are readily available on the internet right now.
Colin Guinn, who has a personal collection of drones, was interviewed by Morley Safer. He predicted that within the very near future, one in five people will own a small drone with a camera attached for taking pictures not otherwise available.
There was no prediction about how soon Fed Ex packages from Amazon would be dispatched by drone, or how soon Netflix will use drones to drop off DVD's at your house; however, it appears as if the technology is available and in use now, and it is only a matter of time.
In fact, a local realtor in my community has already purchased a drone for use in his real estate business and has advertised it on Facebook as a great way to view local properties (exteriors only, of course).

I love technology yet I also miss the simple things and simplier times when you weren't afraid to let your kids play outside without your careful watch and they were happy playing kickball. There is a price to pay for progress.
You are so right. Now we will have to worry about the kids getting spied on by drones whenever they go outside. Maybe every parent should have one. LOL!
Interesting subject ... the jury is still out for me ,,, I need to do some more research ... I worry a lot about giving up too much of my privacy and that take me out of my comfort zone. On the other hand - growth can only happen when you reach outside of that same comfort zone. I try to keep an open mind.
Me too. I worry about all the crashes that will happen with so many of them flying around. Thanks for reading.
This is a little know fact but our military has or will soon have swarms of miniature militarized drones that can fly in flocks unseen for the most part, split up at the last second and swarm whatever target they've been sent to. They will be able to enter buildings at will and do surveillance or take out targets. Pretty freaky!
As far as the delivery system for Amazon, I think it is pretty cool!
Jack :)
Yikes! Jack, Seriously? No wonder Diane Feinstein was all worried about getting them regulated. She was one of the people interviewed. I believe it though. They were showing one that looked just like a hummingbird. A swarm of those could fly by and no one would be the wiser.
