Lesson 8 Made My Day!

I love Wealthy Affiliate. I love what I've learned here so far. I now have my own website, and I have to pinch myself every day to believe it. But it's work. It's hard work to write quality content and to do it on a regular basis. It's especially hard if you're not an expert in your niche when you start. You have to do research! But slowly, slowly, I have been putting it together. One of my biggest issues is images - finding good ones, and once I find them, successfully transferring them to my site. I still don't have a handle on the copyright issues. There is so much more to learn.

But when I arrived at Course 2, Lesson 8 today and found that there was no content to write, no research to do - just watch a video and add a new user with a few keystrokes - I have to tell you I was ecstatic! I went through that lesson so fast, and I'm on to Lesson 9. Ha! Another success post. WhoooHoooo!

Well done Judy, and your site looks great. I have learned one new thing today, I know what Art Deco is.

Excellent. My goal is to teach. Thank you for visiting and commenting. I'm so glad you liked it.

hahahaha... What a fun read this article is, Judy! And congratulations on creating a beautiful website. I'll join you later on there as I'm supposed to go to bed now. :D Keep up the good work, Judy. You are doing GREAT!

Thanks Jenn. Glad you liked it. Sweet dreams.

You're welcome, Judy. Yes, I did enjoy it very much. :)

Great! Thanks for checking it out.

It is a fun place to learn

Sure is. Thanks, Bill.

I just looked at your site but could only see an image on the home page. Also, you need to put 'alternative text' into your images. Looks like a nice clean site though.

Hmmm. I don't know why people can't see the images. I can see them when I'm logged in. ??? I will have to find out about alternative text. I don't know what that means. Did I miss it in one of the lessons? Anyway, I appreciate this feedback. Can't fix what you don't know about. Thanks for taking the time.

When you edit the image it shows 'Caption' (if your wanted a visual description) or 'Alternative text' - The alt attribute provides alternative info' for an image if a visitor for some reason cannot view it, slow connection or if the user uses a screen reader for example.

Oh! That makes sense. Thanks.

I am excited for you and your progress and your site seems to be coming along very well! :) Christa

Thank you for taking the time to visit, Christa.

Hi Judy, your excitement is contagious! : ) I'm so happy for you - you're really not scared of hard work at all are you?? You've made so much progress in such a short space of time and your site is great!

I mean, I have no idea what you're talking about (not my area) ;-) but it's a really good site so far.

Onwards and upwards! : )

Thank you Simon. I really appreciate your kind words. It really is fun to have my own website. I never imagined it was possible.

Hi Judy! Isn't is fantastic to be able to learn about things we love, write about it, and eventually know there will be a pay day for it? Your site is lovely. I have one question and one observation. First, you may want check your "About Judy", "Art Education" and "Elderly Connection" pages. In the upper right, next to your writing, there is just a bunch of numbers (it's a link). When I clicked on the links, they all stated "Oops! That page can’t be found." Second - where did you finally find the art? It is really nice!

Hi Cathy, thank you for this information. I will check those pages. I don't know what those numbers could be. I don't see them when I'm logged in as admin. Most of the paintings on the site are on the walls in my house because it was easier to take a picture with my iPhone and upload it. The Art Deco ones I found on pixabay.com. I am having a lot of fun doing it.

Congratulations for your website! Arts is a great topic and you present very valuable content. I'm hanging my own paintings on my wall!
Please check on the pictures cause I was only able to see the pic from the landing page. The pics from the other pages aren't displayed at all (not even when I clicked on the links). It says that they can't be found.

Good luck!

Thank you for visiting my website, and for your comment. I will check it out.

Very nice website! I hope someday to be able to create one as nice as yours.

Thank you so much. I started it at the end of May. Just doing a little at a time.
