Is Guest Blogging the best way to get Traffic to your site?
Jay's SEO videos talks about how to use keyword search tools, google etc. to get ranked in Google and other search engines. But that doesnt mean that visitors are going to find your content helpful or relevant.
Ive heard other people write blogs for other websites in the hopes that there content will be shared and linked back to their websites. The idea is that Once authority is gained by shares/likes and link backs Google will rank you higher in Search Engine Results Pages (SERP). Guest blogging may help new websites gain authority especially if your content is getting a lot of shares on those other sites.
I have never heard of this practice but if it helps with gaining traffice why not?
Anybody else familiar with guest blogging?

Guest Blogging is a source of 3 things. Reputation building so you become a known expert in your niche, immediate traffic through Other People's Audience or OPA by those who visit through your links on the new post, and link building which helps gain higher ranks in Google. Link building alone is worth the time and effort as more links to a post the higher the page authority and rank as well as total domain authority. 3 major ranking factors in one.

I only did my 1st guess blog 2 days ago.
Once you have value content on your site and continue to add it never hurts to put yourself out there in every way possible. Maybe you want to just focus on one area at a time or a little of each consistently.
Whatever you do to promote yourself online can be beneficial. You might just reach that customer you never would have reached otherwise.
