Hey everyone! Would appreciate your inputs!

First off, my goals that were set in my previous blog post, and in brackets my progress:

6-month Target (by 31 Dec 2019):

- Complete level 5 course (Currently at Lesson 5 of 10)

- Earn my first dollar! (I got my first order! But not fulfilled yet)

- Around 30 views a day for my website (Improved from 1-10 view per day, to 10-25 views a day)

- Write about 50 additional posts, based on twice a week, every week till end of the year (Have been posting twice a week most of the time, there were 2 weeks I posted once, and 1 week I posted thrice)

- 1k followers on Instagram (Increased from 500 (June) to 735 as of today)

First question I have is about the Amazon order. Even though I know traffic and the clicks are really low, I got an order!

But the thing is, the order was not any of the items in my affiliate links. It is some other product. Why did that happen? I don't understand.

Hopefully the order will get fulfilled and I'll get my first few dollars.

Next question, is it allowed to post an affiliate link on our facebook page or pinterest?

Last question, how do you guys link up your different social media accounts such that people eventually land on your affiliate links?

I currently have Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and my website stillfigurineout.com. All of them uses the same name: stillfigurineout. I sometimes feel that I don't utilise them smoothly enough to bring people to my site and affiliate links. I'm not sure if you understand what I mean, but if you do, how do you work out or link up your different social media to drive traffic to your site?

Thank you in advance for your inputs! =D

Hi Idris,

Earlier today I answered your question about putting affiliate links directly into Pinterest and FB ads, don't do that.

I had a look at your social media profiles and your website. You really did an excellent job of setting everything up. It's clean, concise, and the photography is excellent. I'd have to say I'm really impressed and you gave me some good ideas. Even the affiliate commision notice is great.

Your links from your social media to your websites seem to be good. You've got an excellent following. I'm not familiar with Instagram so I cannot comment. But with Pinterest once you get 100+ followers you can get involved with Tailwind. I believe you can get involved with Tailwind using Instagram. You could dramatically increase your traffic that way so check it out but do research the Terms of Service Agreement so not to get into trouble.

I also looked into your niche as a whole and although I know nothing about it certain aspects of it, it can be very profitable. Some of these Amazon sellers are doing $50-$60K per month. WOW!

Anyway, your problem seems to be conversions aka. people actually buying from your links. Here's the way I see your problem: You never ask your followers to BUY! You need to make it EASY for people to BUY. When I went to your site there is no BUY NOW button. If you want people to buy, you need to ask them.

For example: When I saw this...(Hasbro X-23 (Sasquatch BAF Wave) I could not tell it's a link to BUY. Same font, almost same color. The font should be bright red bold font...or a button.

Anyway, that's what I would do first, just my opinion. If that doesn't work after a couple months then you may need to search for less competitive keywords for your blogs. RIght now "carnage goblin", "spiderman vs hobgoblin", "marvel legends silver surfer poses" and "silver surfer vs juggernaut" are low competition search terms. Use these as titles for your next blogs and you may get some sales. Again, I don't know your niche and this may not be relevant.

Regards,

Mike

Hi Mike! Really really appreciate the detailed feedback and you checking out my site and other social media platforms!

I've never heard of tailwind, I'll check it out! I've got the most followers on Instagram cos I set that account first, followed by Pinterest and lastly FB. I need to get the hang of pinterest. I find the whole platform cluttered and messy, but since 2 of you guys recommend pinterest, I need to put in more attention to it.

Some amazon sellers making 50k-60k a month?? I'd be happy to get 50-60 bucks a month for now 😅😂

Yeah I need to get more conversion, but my thought has always been to traffic. But you are right that I need to make my links more obvious, by bolding or underlining it, or actually literally using the word BUY. I need to make my links more obvious.

And yes I think you are right for me to need to find more less-competitive keywords. But to put them in the title of a post would change the consistency of my titles across all post. But yes it's something I need to think about.

Thanks again for taking your time to give me this feedback! Appreciate it!

Hi - as regards Amazon, as long as a customer clicks through your link, whatever they purchase within 24 hours will earn you commission.

Ahh noted, so they clicked my affiliate link, but diverted to their own search and bought a different thing, but still get affiliate commission? Did I put it correctly?

Yes, that's right.

Hi Idris,

No, you can't put affiliate links directly into your pinterest pins and FB page. That violates the Terms of Service. However you can link to your web address which will contain your affiliate links.

As far as your other questions I'll have to get back to you, maybe later today. I'm traveling around at the moment.

Cheers,

Mike

Congratulations for your nice progress!
I wish you to continue on this way.

Ingrid

Thank you Ingrid! It's a work in progress! 😁

Hi Idris. I only concentrate on Pinterest nowadays, it performs by far the best for me. There are several ways to link it to your site. I use Sassy social share plugging in WordPress and when I go on my site I simply push on the Pinterest button at the bottom of my blog. It will then bring up all the images on that blig and ask me which one I want to share. If you want to use images from an other source, such as your computer files then you simply create a pin, click upload, find the picture, double click on it and it will populate the Pinterest pin site. You can then add a title, comments and your url. Select a board, click publish and 'hey presto' your pin is published with your website link. Jim

Can we post an affiliate link at the description or the url box?

I actually prefer Instagram and FB as I'm more familiar with it. I really should get my pinterest going!

Congratulations! 😊

Thank you! But I'll be relieved (and happy!) when I see the order fulfilled!
