OK. I want to get going so I will start with some general information and will upgrade bit by bit until my profile is quite comprehensive.

I am a newbie who was a member a few years ago, made the best of it but had to bow out in frustration. I did all that I was taught but maybe did not reach out enough and didn't feel like I was part of the site. I couldn't get around the site and understood very little. Now I am determined to work through it.

My goals seemed to be out of the loop. I am not blaming anyone but my poignant appeals for help to Kyle and Carson were responded to with general admonishments which frustrated me even more.

I know that my future depends on handling this Internet Marketing because the world that I prepared for all my life changed when I was not looking and all my life assets, artistic, mental, intellectual, physical, seem to be perfectly poised for promotion, marketing and profit via this modality and I am now determined to discover HOW to make it happen.

So I have put the past behind me and I'm here to be successful. I tended to be iconoclastic, working on my craft and skills alone for years on end. Now I am willing to share whatever I know with the community and will seek the help I need from my new family- especially in the area of my Achilles Heel: technology.

Most of my life is lived as a Musician- Arranger, Composer, and Songwriter, Vocalist, Pianist, Keyboardist and have been Music Teacher, Producer, Artist's Agent, Artist Manager, Impresario.

I have a world class collection of Vinyl Records in most desirable genres; collectible stereo and musical equipment.

Another area in which I am involved is Art. I have enough Art to fill a Gallery which was one of the projects to be developed.

In addition I have large collections of cultural artifacts, vintage clothing etc.

I know that people are marketing their services and their articles on line. I still pay monthly for a physical store which I had to close down, and for storages for my collections. So basically I am cash poor with high overheads but with potential for a lucrative business and I am convinced that this is the correct platform. I hope to be more successful this time in finding a way to market this on line. I suspect that different niches are involved. But THIS is what I want to do.

So there! I will add some more later. But I'm happy to be here and very optimistic.

Hello mate!

I'll start by saying that you are definitely in the right place. You don't need a brick and mortar store to promote and sell your stuff, you can do it better online, after all the audience you can target is HUGE!

Anyway, thanks for adding me to your network!
I am returning the favor and wish you the very best of luck!

Cheers!

Good afternoon to you John, my name is Ken and I welcome back to WA and thank you for the follow. I am sure you have some unique skills from the past that you can add to and get rolling quickly. Just for grins (and review), I suggest you start at the beginning Get Started Here [top left green box] to find out if any new procedures have been added from your last stay. This will only help you going forward. You want to build an online business that will continue to be in demand so learn any new skills that will keep you current.
Good luck and I wish you much success in reaching your goals.

It sounds like you have great expertise and your only problem is to focus on you potentially most lucrative niche.

The process is simple. Implementation will take a lot of work.

1. Set up a website focused on your most profitable niche.
2. Create an opt-in list and start collecting emails so you can stay in touch with your website visitors.
3. Set up 5 autoresponder letters that start establishing you as a caring person.
4. email blast your list at least weekly with information the list will find helpful and interesting. No more than one sales pitch per month.
5. Find companies or products you want to be a sales rep for.
6. Write reviews for each product you represent.
7. Be sure to max SEO for every product you rep
8. Use Social Media to talk about how your products can help people.

Obviously, there is more to it, but you will learn the details as you progress through the WA training.

Hey Bill808,
I appreciate the time you took to outline that process. You are the first to do so. I will save it and have it be my template as I move forward. I am making tiny baby steps because i am not familiar with the vocabulary. But I'm in for the long haul. Thanks again and let me know if I can help with anything. Bless!

Hi John, Don't get up. This is the place where you will find a warm, helpful and supportive community. WA is the place to be in, where they are out to share and teach members not only the finer point of fishing instead of just giving bony fish. Best wishes and stay positive. [Kelsey]

Hello John, thanks for following me. I'm glad you're giving it another go.

I see you have many areas of interest. I suggest selecting one that you are most interested in - music, or art, or artifacts - and run with that one niche. You can expand later.

If your goal is to sell your own products, look into the Woo Commerce themes and applications. I believe WA hosting supports Woo. Not sure about other e-commerce options. . .

It could help reduce technology frustrations to become well versed in the basics of WordPress (WP). It is included in the training as it pertains to each lesson, but most people jump ahead and try to do things outside of the training and then hit a snag.

In that case, use the WA search bar to find more specific training

I'm always glad to help. If you need anything, let let me know.

Hi Steph,

I had the ultimate satisfaction of discovering your training on Blog Posts. I was frustrated at my inability to even begin my first blog. The training is precise and comprehensive. I appreciate you and also your contribution as an Ambassador which I'm just learning about. You rock!

Cheers!

It sounds like you have a lot of inventory (overhead as you said). You could start an ecommerce site to sell your items. If you have art pieces, you could create an online art gallery and store. The same with vintage clothing and anything else you have.

Many thanks for following me. I hope everything is going well so far.

Steph

Hi Steph,

The overhead would be the cost of store and storage rental facilities, licences for the store etc.

I am at WA hoping to learn HOW to do those things.
That's why I am here- specifically to market my personal collections. I have chosen my first niche and am running it by Kyle.

Whatever I need to do to get there I will do. So, I am following the training. I wish that there was a more direct course on what I want
but that's not a complaint. I am happy to be getting a broad education in the process.

I have been learning about social sites, the online platforms for publishing music, the you tube potential for having my music played, the auction sites, on line stores etc. But that's all. I just know that they exist.

And things are going well- planning to do my first blog.

Thank you for your interest and if you have any information I could use, please send it my way.

Best to you also,
Cheers,
John.

Hello John, Welcome back. Good things happen a second time around with a refreshed outlook.
Thank you kindly for including me in those you follow within the WA community. Sounds like you've done quite a bit a reflection, which is encouraging to others, like myself. Particularly, as since beginning this journey, I've run into many boulders that were not so easy to get around. What is great about the WA community is the contagious positive and helpful attitude!
In the training we are advised to go with a niche that we are familiar with. By what you reveal in your profile, yours sounds ready made with what is a central part of who you are. You have an opportunity now to look ahead with fresh perspective. Look forward to hearing where you go with it!
Blessings going forward :) SuzQ

You got that right SuzQ. I am at this point trying to hone in one niche then I will run it by Kyle. This is what I want that I did not get before. The last time I promoted WA and even made money but that was not what I wanted to do. I kept asking how I could sell my own stuff but not even the owners would acknowledge my request. I kept being sent back to the "bootcamp side. But now I know that I have to have websites and get traffic to them, then feed my stuff to the traffic. I know it's long term. I don't mind because that's what I want. Stay in touch. I am willing to help with whatever I know. Cheers!

HI John and welcome back. Sounds like you had a rough time the first go around but I know this time will be much easier for you.

I am reading a book called PEAK and one of the things that all peak performers have is a time of struggle when they are not good at what they do. But everyone of the people to become successful used times of deliberate practice and concentrated effort to overcome there ignorance and lack of "talent". They all developed a skill set. Through practice they moved from being totally helpless to experts by working at it and never giving up.

So how does this have to do with you?

Anyone that can play a musical instrument at a professional level has the ability to sort out WordPress, SEO, blogging, affiliate marketing and all the other things that we need to do to be successful in a online business.

The skill set needed to run a online business is a LEARNED skill and you can learn it

Keep at it my friend and reach out for help when you need it.

Thank you Percy,

I got the principle. Thanks for taking the time to spell it out.

Much has changed. Most importantly, I have changed. Where before I felt alone, unacknowledged and unsupported now I ask until I get to the root of the problem. Before, I couldn't find a footing and now I dig it out if I need one. The culture here has changed and the site has improved by leaps and bounds in my opinion. I asked one question over and over before and never got an answer. This time around I got an answer within hours of joining. So, it's all good. And there no hard feelings!

I appreciate you and I'm here for you too.

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks for the follow.

All I can say is follow the Wealthy Affiliate course, and you will be amazed. Each lesson along the way is designed for beginners and you'll amaze yourself how you can build your own website.

If you have any questions, just ask the community. There are many who will provide you with helpful answers. This is a very supportive community. As much as I can, I will help you.

I have tried many different online programs. Although I haven't finished the WA course, IMHO, this is by far, the best course (and community) to learn how to build an online income.

Wishing you all the best to your success. - Beth

Hi Iblanco, thanks for following I followed you back and welcome back to the family. My advice is to just relax and enjoy the process. Don't move up to premium until you have all your ducks in a row. The free course is more than enough to occupy your time until you are 100% ready.
Best of luck to you,

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Well, I did PM you about my chosen niche. Maybe that was the wrong method. I was told that your reply would take two to three days but tomorrow would make one week since I messaged you -but you didn't reply.
I am not sure about all the protocols so I am replying here this time. i chose" rare record auctions "for my niche but once I had settled into the idea, I thought of myself( my records that I want to sell) and wondered" how can I be an affiliate for a private collector who has rare records?" So I went to Amazon and they do have rare records and other collectible memorabilia on sale. So now I am not so sure that I should choose that niche or how to proceed. How I should be thinking now? John

It could be "Rare Records" or "Rare Vinyl" and you could cover this audience. Most definitely John and I do apologize about the late response, I will have to dig up your other PM. My response time is almost always within 48 hours.

Hi John,

Thanks for following me; I joined about 2 months back & I knew zilch about affiliate marketing even though I attended a weekend program on it.

These 2 months have been absolutely amazing, and that's an understatement: right from day 1 any issue or question I had, all I needed was type them into the respective classrooms & help would be rendered within minutes. The longest wait I had was on 15 min!

I hope you find this community as helpful as I did & I wish you every success.

Cheers,

Strangely enough, the part of WA, where I've been the most active, namely on the blog, is now showing me the direction I can take, and what I'm truly good at!

Sometimes it takes a long time to truly find onesself.....
