Lots of great advice has been given here.

I don't know if this is a good analogy or not, but here goes.

Suppose at my age of 62, I decided to start college. I would feel overwhelmed at the fast pace and not having good study habits in high school, I would be falling behind rapidly and that exactly what happened when I went to college right after high school and I quit when starting my 2nd year and never went back.

I have since learned from Life University and there really are no limits to what we can do.

I have been living for the last 6 years only from the income I make online.

There are so many ways to achieve this.

The training here along with free hosting, SiteSupport and especially the community is priceless and as you move forward you will see there are countless directions you can go and the training will give you a strong foundation along with all of the other training that is available on this platform.

It can and may take time to see the income start coming your way, but if you continue to learn and take action, it will come.

The thing is your website doesn’t have to look “beautiful”. In fact the more designs and distractions you have on it the worst.

I’ve seen people with very very plain websites with pictures that looked like a 5 year old drew making 6 figures a year.

You have to remember that people come to your website and buy things based on what you write not how your site looks.

And the training in Wealthy Affiliate teaches you step by step how to create engaging content that people will like which will result in them clicking your links and making you money.

So my advice is to do the all the training without skipping a step, and by the time your done you will have a website that you will be proud of and in some cases making you money.

It is so easy to get overwhelmed! It is also so frustrating to try to build a fantastic website and write great content... but... it can be done and you can do it. Push through the lessons as quick as you can, especially since you are redundant and gain as much knowledge on website building. Ask for comments and suggestions. Loads of help here.

Take some time for yourself to reflect on what your former employer has just done with your job ....

many, many others over the years have experienced a similar moment that you just did yesterday ... the sting will eventually wear off ...

once you've got yourself gathered back up ... unless your position was unionized, you might want to retain legal counsel as basically it was a 'constructive dismissal' and you want to ensure your right to severance is protected ... depending upon your past work & benefits.....

the severance package may be quite a considerable sum that will help you get back on your feet by investing in your own projects .... such as Wealthy Affiliate! ...

Hey Ian, I'm new here as well and take it from me, THIS is the place to be! I have spent plenty of money and time on other sites and buying products who sell you promises and never deliver only to leave you with less income and feeling like a failure. This community of people are so great and are ready and willing to help us with anything we need, I have people reaching out to me every day that I'm here checking on me. THEN you have the training which is awesome because you get a text to read AND videos actually showing you what you need to do to be successful. The ONLY way you will fail here is if you quit and flat out don't try. I believe that there are no coincidences and you found this place for a reason so do your thing man because you CAN do it!
