Business As Usual Might Be Unusual Going Forward
For a long time most people have been used to a normal 9 to 5 or 8 to 4 work schedule in a centralized location. In comparison, there has been a tiny minority working virtually, from home or a cafe. While most in this group of virtual workers have probably been those that are making money online through the various media, including affiliate marketing, some have been those that are working for a company in another state, or country, or even another continent. I know a friend in the US, an architect who works for a company in another state in the US and does everything, including meetings, online. Others teach classes in a non-traditional university, online, never seeing their students even once. Is this the world of the future?
While it might be pushing things to claim that in future everyone will be working in this manner, it is probably not wrong to say that the workplace of the future will revolve around the wide world web a lot more than it does today.
The world today is grappling with the terrible Covid-19. Schools, shopping places, workplaces and even worship places have been closed or will be closed in the coming days, weeks, and months who knows for how long, a clear message to all that business as usual is becoming unusual. It is time to change how we do things.
This is why it is important for everyone here at WA to learn how to handle online business. Granted, it might not seem easy, but it is necessary. Congratulations to those who have already overcome their limitations in this area, and courage to all of us who are just starting out on this exciting journey!
