Key To Longer Posts - Write like yourself
I have been really finding myself writing much more in a post on my website when I do this one simple thing.
Write like myself!
When I first started, I remember writing about 200 words in a post and thinking I couldn't get anymore.
There is always going to be somewhere you can add a few more words. Imagine you were telling a story to someone else, would you tell them the short story or the extended one with extra descriptions.
If you ever find yourself describing something in a post, describe it well, make sure your reader has a good image of what you are trying to describe to them, if you can do that, there is a good chance they read more!
If you really want to make a post longer, you can just talk about nothing really for a whole paragraph, but I'm not quite sure how that is for SEO, however this whole paragraph kind of fits into the post doesn't it? I mean here is another I don't know 60 words that I didn't even really intend to write but there are even more coming now.
If you can take the images from your head and describe them the way you would as if you were going to tell it to someone verbally, and put it into letters, and words on a blog post, you can go far in this world!
There are 2 billion people on the internet, someone somewhere will be interested in your posts. Never Quit Posting!
Thanks!

Kenneth,
I had this very challenge a few hours ago. One of my posts was short. Your info here helped me to double my post, and added picture too.
I think this is good info. Quality is a must and some quantity can help.
Thanks
I'm glad I could help! That's awesome! If you can explain it with more words verbally, you can do it with words on a screen!
Makes sense. If we write like we talk to our friends, it makes the task easier and a lot more fun. Thanks for sharing. Debbie
Words are words, verbal or typed, both do the same thing, explain and tell. Thanks for reading! :)
I truly believe in this! When I am writing an informational post about autism, I find that it takes much longer and I tend to keep checking the word count. When I am writing about my personal experiences with my son, the words just flow out and it seems like it is done within just a few minutes!
Include personal stories in the information posts, just because its informative, doesn't mean it cant be personal. Its your blog and you can write how you want, thanks for reading! :)
