At first, it took a week and a reminder email from me to get approved. Now it takes forever to approved for certain programs. Does anyone know why?
I got approved right away for both shareasale and the merchant, kitchen universe. BUT I can't get the links to work. I've been over it about 6 times and I know I'm doing it right. Anyone know why?
Ok, I suggest avoid adding the HTML codes.
The easiest way to do the links in sharesale is:
"CREATE A CUSTOM LINK"
Go to links, click tab create a custom link, get the url of the page to want from the merchant.
Enter this url from them into that box and click "create custom link". You need a new link to that merchant page...
That link contains your ID and link it to whatever image / text you want. Hope that helps!
Great stuff, now you are sorted. When you get more comfortable with shareasale, try the tab "build a page". Its one of my favourite features and you can have a range of products displayed as you want (rather than just one product)
It's the individual programs. I began applying only to those who offered instant approval...because it seemed too unpredictable for the ones that needed to be approved. IIRC, I ended up writing to the account manager on one of them to ask why approval was being delayed...and they never responded.
It was a pretty quick approval for me but one of the programs I was interested in took a few days while others were same day. Maybe it depends on the affiliate. Mine are mainly scrapbooking and paper craft types.
It's been like this for a while - can't see it changing anytime soon.
That's one of the reasons I don't associate with them any more, and a lot of other people feel the same way.

Some are really slow... Apply to as many as you can (enter a product related to your niche, then search, then apply to all the merchants that stock it) start with 10...
You should get 3 or 4 straight away and starting working on monetising your site with their products first, don't hang around waiting for them to approve you as you could be waiting weeks in some cases! Patience is needed also, I find the ones in CJ very slow and the ones in shareasale a lot better...

Every time I try to send an outgoing message or reply, Atmail just indicates "connecting" forever.
This could be for several reasons, though I can give you a few general pointers:
1. try to close and reopen your browser more often. Over time your computer will need to start it fresh just in case there is an error in your java/silverlight/backend and restarting can help.
2. Double click on the button - I noticed my atmail doesn't always respond unless I double or triple click, so this might help.
3. Try re-initiating your network - If you are connected for a long time it is possible that you are losing too many packets and your internet is having a harder time sending out data.
4. Check your connectivity. if it is low, it is likely that your internet is having trouble with it. Remember that uploading is more stressful than downloading, and therefore when you send a message it can take a longer time to send it than for the person to receive it once sent.
Hope these tips help! I'm not an authority on atmail, but I am pretty good with computers and these rules generally work to solve the majority of browser related issues :)
