Symbolism
Well hello everyone, I want to talk about Symbolism.
since my website is based on 2 symbols I thought I would share some of the information and knowledge I have about the many different symbols in our world.
Well, we all know there are many different types of symbols that hold a lot of power they show up in every culture and religion. Some symbols strike fear into people's hearts, many symbols show faith and protection. there are many other symbols with different meanings.
I know education is the key to everything, so instead of assuming or prejudging something you don't know anything about taking some time to research the origins and true meaning behind it. I myself have come across many people thru out my life that looks at a picture or an item that has some kind of symbol on it and automatically think something negative or assume its bad before they know anything about it.
I have had and known numerous people over the years from different countries and cultures with a lot of history so whenever I saw something unique and different I would ask about it out of pure curiosity. I was usually pleasantly surprised by what I found out.
A symbol is a mark, sign or word that indicates, signifies, or is understood as representing an idea, object, or relationship. Symbols allow people to go beyond what is known or seen by creating linkages between otherwise very different concepts and experiences.
That is the actual definition of what a symbol is but when you are dealing with mystical symbols or religious symbols it takes on a different meaning. Here are some pics of symbols and some of their meanings. Egypt has lots of deep history in it and has many symbols, language, and hieroglyphics, which we are usually always intrigued and curious about. this symbol special to me cause I love the moon and it stands for the 3 phases of the full moon and all the stuff in the pic. it is an ancient symbol. for the longest time, I saw this and wondered what it was and what it was for cause I saw it everywhere but it actually has ties to the middle east and north Africa..as you can tell there are many cultures and religions here they all believe in a supreme being but some people judge each one based on the symbol or spiritual path that you choose.

Symbols carry deep meaning but I have struggled to find the difference between symbols and logos. They seem to carry the same weight.

Yes, I do have the predilection to avoid anything amulet or symbolism coming from an uncomfortable origin. However, I appreciate the tendency of others to acquire something like this. But no for me, personally
that's fine we are all unique individuals with different beliefs and views. I am spiritual so I know of many different paths. thank you for commenting.
I have 3 symbolic medals I have had forever. The cross given to me by my preacher grandfather when I was baptised, a Saint Christopher to protect me in my travels ( given to me by my first girlfriend who happened to be a Catholic ex-change student from Venezuela), and an Ankh.

thanks for the nice comments. I have noticed that a lot of old ways have been lost and revamped and then they told us this is the better way and it usually isn't.
