Issues with the new comments

I have a beauty blog and I get comments the whole time from men who write they don't know anything about beauty but they've saved it for their wife. These aren't the comments I'm after! They don't look good on my site and they don't add anything.

People shouldn't comment if they don't know the subject.

A way around the issue is to close the comment window and come back 5 minutes later where hopefully you'll get a more relevant site to comment on.

I agree Hollie about closing the comment window and returning. Some people just wont do that because they get a negative result, but if they are genuine about comments they'd accept the negative and move on.

I fully concur. Personally, I like the old system much better because it didn't seem as if people were commenting just to rack up enough points to make a few bucks. I like when people comment because they want to comment, and they fully understand the niche they're commenting about.

Well put!

Thanks. I've been meaning to say that for a while, anyway. Needed to be brought to attention. I've always though most of Carson's and Kyle's ideas were beyond brilliant, but this one is a major fail, IMHO.

There are times when I am not comfortable commenting on a particular subject and it is not easy selecting another site.Is there an easy way to bypass and select another site?

When I don't like a site I close the window and 5 minutes later open the site comments again. There is usually a different site to review.

the system gets saturated due to these conditions. Many times I get a message of comment invite only to find it's already been answered.

Yes, you can do that and it will be added to your skip percentage unless you did not open the post.
I'm sure they will learn to give a comment next time.

There's no need to open the post if its something you know nothing about.
I often reload the page and it doesn't affect my skip percentage.

Ok, that's fine.

Hi Hollie, that must be very frustrating for you. I agree, and have had to do exactly that when I've come up against subjects I have no idea about.
Hope this blog helps put it out there for you:)
All the best, Cass

Thanks! I hope so too!
