Just finished my first post
happy to say that I just finished my first post! I probably read it over 20 times to make sure the grammar and spelling were correct. I cannot believe that my writing is now available for the entire world to read...wow! I received one comment and it made me so proud
I would like to know when people started getting followers and regular comments!?!

Well done Hillary!
Claire's got it right, it takes time. You can help it along by spreading the word. That may include anything from writing about what folks are searching for (keyword research) to simply listing your website under your picture in the right sidebar of your profile. You have put your website on your profile, haven't you? ;-)
You can also search places like Google Trends and see if you can get out in front of a rising trend to gather traffic to your site. Try to engage your readers with new content, videos, etc. The search engines will reward long time on site with higher search ratings, and your visitors will be more inclined to visit again, and possibly share your site socially. If you don't have a plugin to put social sharing icons on your site, put that on your to-do list as well.
The good news is that I've got one site that's getting over 10,000 hits a month, and the bad news is that I've *only* got one site getting over 10,000 hits per month. This site (Wealthy Affiliate) undoubtedly gets much more that that in a day!
Congratulations - you're on your way!
Dennis
Well done :) Such a sense of achievement isn't it!
Did you submit your new post to the give and take thread? Need website comments? the give and take comment thread As for followers, once you get yourself out there on social platforms (course 3) and promote your site, you'll start to get a few, but it does take time to build up a fan base. How long, I don't know because I've not 'made it' yet.
I've had a handful of organic comments on one of my sites which has been going since January, but that has only started recently and the flow isn't steady - yet.
Now I'm curious to hear other people's experiences with this so I look forward to seeing more responses!
Congrats again Hilary :)

Thank you both for your incredible responses. I cannot wait to grow my site and see others have success.
