Is it just me or are out there others with perfectionism block?
Hi there,
My title says it all, I have hit a block.
Why? Well, it is my perfectionists traits playing up. I have got to the point where I need to start monetising my sites, and I do not feel I have enough content on them yet to be able to do so.
I have been creating pages and posts as instructed on the lessons, and I have even gone and created a few more. Just to mention, I feel ok recommending WA, because I see the full value of it and I mention that on my blog/ post/page. I can do it because I truly believe on it, and that was the only reason why I signed for it, I have never fallen on one of those scams that so many people talk about, so I can not base my experience on those, I base my experience on why I acted on.
But with respect to my niches, I do not feel I have given yet enough information on my websites for people believe that they could follow my advice. I have not done it due to lack of time, so I have been in the last few days writing my socks off trying to write content up to the point when I feel I have given back enough to be able to ask people to follow my advice.
Does this makes sense to you? Or it is only my perfectionism and extremely strong sense of fearless the one playing up here?
Until I have enough content, my mind says, I can not do the tasks that my lesson is asking me to do, but until then, I can not move on with my lessons either, as I have promised myself not to move forward a lesson until I have taken actions on all my tasks.
Therefore, I am in a sort of stand still status with my learning.
Has this happen to you too at some point? How do you dealt with it? Am I being too hard with myself as usual?
Your opinion is very much appreciated.
All the best and happy learning,
Hisbel

Welcome to the club :) At least you've done great job with your websites. I cannot say that for me.
You will, I know. I think AGOgden and Turner below got it right, we just need to trust Kyle and do as he say on the lessons, even if our perfectionist inside tell us it is not good enough.
All the best

Hi Hisbel,
Both sites are really nice! I think you are over-thinking it because overall they have good content. Just a thought, though, about the "making money for university" website: Are you talking about making money for a university in the USA...? I don't think that is realistic and would cause way too much stress for a college student because this takes a long while to start making any serious money that would help pay for tuition. That is my only comment and the rest is really nice. Good luck!
Hi Amyr,
Thank you for looking into the websites, and for your kind comments.
I am referring to students in the UK, there is a lot of money to pay, I know, but here most manage to get a loan from the government, but they have to pay it after, so they graduate with a horrible debt to start life.
The site is dedicated not only at the affiliate program of WA, but at using the skills and facilities to built small businesses that can create some income to help out for start with. I taught at university for many years, and I know it is possible, and specially students from Computing related subjects, can do a lot with the help of WA.
But I also intend to look for other sources of income that they can use, not only affiliate online work. I want to help the students to open their eyes to the possibilities.
You talk about causing stress? I used to have students that had their own family, and will be driving a lorry all night to earn money to keep their household, and come in the morning for their lectures. It is stressful, but some do not have an option, is the only way. I want to help those students.
wow that is amazing and I wish you all the best with this. You are doing something so great for those students -- sounds like it is pretty tough over there as well. This is a great idea and I know you will do good with it for struggling students in debt. Good for you...!

I get where you're coming from, Hisbel, as I'm the same.
What we have to remember though is that if we wait until it's perfect, we'll never get it done. I certainly don't want to publish content that will make me think later on 'OMG....did I really write that....?', but we just need to do what we know rather than waiting until we know it all before doing anything. Success is built daily, not in a day :-)
Cheers
Rich
Very wise words, thanks Rich! Thank you to all the wonderful comments here, I have been able to break slowly the block and started ticking some of those tasks this weekend.
Thank you so much everybody, I do really appreciate it. This is the value of this community that can not be priced.
Have a great week everyone!
