Eyes Wide Open to New Horizons

Today I completed the third level of training. It has been awesome, encouraging, enlightening, and at times my fellow WAs have helped me for which I am so thankful.
It's wildly exciting developing a website with the potential of earning its keep (making money). So In addition to my niche site I began a site to market WA, and I have a third site for down the track to market my little ebooks, However, that is on hold for a while as it involves another degree of writing...... Something to look forward to.
I have enjoyed experimenting with Pinterest and learning how many clicks my websites are receiving. It's getting to the stage where the number of clicks might bring in some sales. However, for both websites the sales are a bit long term, so I can't expect anything too quickly. WA for example requires people to join for a free week and then take premier membership for a month before the real rates begin, so for each person we are looking at a minimum of six to eight weeks before any funds come in. My other site is even longer term and requires a lot more work done on it before I become any sort of authority in my area. However, I can see that the authority perspective could open up if I keep working at it for six months or so. I do have some potential short term sales. Perhaps I had better look at website number three which will have potentially quicker turnover. I'm changing my mind even as I write, which just shows how valuable writing or journalling is in the decision-making process. Hey, there could be an article on journalling!

The other thing about Pinterest is the way the pictures remain there always, continuing their work for years. Each picture is an advertisement in itself, but unlike in a newspaper or magazine it doesn't stop working. People can look at it a year from now and check it out.
The process of blogging about my niche and doing research about each blog post is fascinating and gets me into lots of areas of history that otherwise would never come to my attention, so it is an eye-opener in that respect. As my blog is often about places to stay, the local history is one of the features of that visit, and it is great to discover the stories involved. I do have a very long way to go, but I can see how we become the authority in our chosen field as we need to research it constantly. It's an aspect of blogging potential that is new and exciting to me. I find myself becoing increasingly involved in my subject and alarmingly full of ideas, not all of which I can do at once!
I wonder how other members are finding their blogging is changing them as people, changing their levels of interest in their niche and openng new horizons of how they might continue to develop communications in their area. Love to hear from you about that.
Cheers for now, and best wishes for a wealthy future to all my WA companions.
Helen
