Day 2 with WA- "Mover and Shaker Motivation"

Good Afternoon WA friends!

It's Day 2: I'm a mover and shaker. It's MOTIVATION. I set my mind to something...I go fast and all in. When it is important to me, I don't waiver or stall. I go BIG. I don't STOP. I literally THIRST for knowledge and making this a success! One of my goals is to post a daily blog to document my journey and thoughts.

Here I go!

CHOOSE YOUR NICHE:

OMG! It's getting real very quickly.

Steps:

I'm looking at Google and going down the alphabet

I'm searching Google with Affiliate Programs + Niche

I'm searching Amazon, and looking at my past orders for myself

So, what's in a name?

I know these can be changed here and there, but there are domain brokers and flippers and people that just go through the alphabet and secure the name JUST BECAUSE. And it's obvious that I cannot have the coolest name, or CAN I?

When I research more about the names that are taken, looking up the site or searching social media and other platforms, there is NOTHING on some of them, but yet "TAKEN".

Well, keep the creative juices flowing because I will land on SOMETHING! This is how I spent my hours yesterday.

I am continuously thinking of names for a website or online store, etc., and I literally have 10 domain names currently that are parked doing nothing that I have secured over the last month before I joined WA.

None of those are what I want for my first site right now.

My journey thus far being DAY 2 training has led me to check off "Choose Your Niche" and "Register Your Domain" on WA. This was actually done last night around 9pm CST.

So, I have TONS of ideas for niches that it becomes difficult to narrow down to one, so I narrowed down to what I would like to START as my first affiliate site.

Niche? Health and Beauty

Let's drill down:

What part of health and beauty would I focus on first?

Skincare

What do I struggle with everyday?

1. Keeping my skin looking amazing and finding the right makeup products that work with my age.

2. Keeping up on my nutrition so my skin can look good. Plenty of water, right? YES!

3. Finding the right makeup products that actually WORK on someone my age without me looking like Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Who Can I Help?

Women over 50, as I am 52 and know (and love) this very much, so obviously, my target audience is women over 50, although this can be so wide range.

So the BIG question is this:

Building a website around skincare routines and product reviews, then adding makeup products I use as well, or focusing solely on skincare products right now and adding makeup products down the line?

I am such an overthinker that I may be complicating the process, as my mind NEVER shuts down.

I'm accomplishing things EVERY DAY. Even the littlest of things can be a BIG DEAL. I know they say baby steps, but mine are more like Sheepdog steps. My mind is always working and thinking, so here I go!

SELECTING A DOMAIN:

I did the research. As a marketing specialist throughout my career, I have named buildings and theme ideas, so I've spent hours upon hours researching words, synonyms, antonyms and combinations and formulas.

In addition, I searched nameckr for social media sites, as well as USPTO for trademark status on the words I selected.

Bingo: Well, I bought and registered 3 domains on WA last night.

Why? Because I like the names. Out of the three names I secured, I am really leaning toward one in particular as my favorite to start with here at WA.

Reasoning: Bought my 3 domains regarding skincare that could also translate into makeup and other beauty items along the way using the SAME SITE NAME.

So I can be providing tons of value on various levels, then applying with affiliate programs for both skincare and makeup (essentially everything beauty and skin related). Plus, I understand this niche VERY WELL.

What are the domain names I chose you may be asking?

skinspry.com

skinmoxie.com

skinoomph.com

Skinspry.com is my favorite because:

1. Short and sweet

2. Spry is relevant to an "older person"

3. Active, energetic and lively

My focus :

Why should you trust me as a skincare expert?

What am I using right now on my skin?

Why do I use these products?

Excellent for sensitive skin

Vegan friendly- not tested on animals - cruelty free

Makes my skin feel tight yet soft, instant gratification!

A little goes a long way...really long way!

What is the good, the "meh" and essentially Pros & Cons?

The Pro-Collagen line is known for its hydration and firming properties, thanks to the marine and plant ingredients, making it great for someone with more mature skin.

Perfect for every ageless beauty, these advanced anti-ageing treatments deliver powerful actives to the skin to target the look of fine lines and wrinkles

What have I tried before that hasn't worked, at least for me?

Am I on the right track?

I look forward to hearing any feedback from the community. I can take it! If I am missing anything before I start the next course of building my website, please chime in. I appreciate everyone on this site!

Cheers!

Sounds like you have everything very well planned Holly, and as for 52... Wow!!

May I wish you all the very best for the future my friend!

@jessiefido thank you! The WA community and education provided helps to take each component one step at a time, and definitely committing to the daily work helps me to keep organized.

You're most welcome my friend and I totally agree that everything here on the platform is second to none!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 😊

No way you are 52, Holly! I never would have guessed! I'm 55, so what would I know?

Jeff

😆 thank you ❤️ that's what I get all the time, so I thought, hey this beauty niche is extremely competitive, but yet, for those of us over 50, maybe I've got something? I found myseld second guessing my niche earlier this evening, so I haven't started building my site yet.

Perhaps you could also consider narrowing it down to a specific subniche that is more focused, Holly! Just a thought, but I know that you will know what is right for you when you embark!

Jeff

Happy Saturday! Thank you! Great advice. I'll try and do that today.

I know that you will be successful regardless what you decide, Holly! Your writing exudes your drive!

Jeff

What a wonderful compliment. Thank you! I appreciate your guidance and support! As a newbie here, processing all the information can be overwhelming, and I love the idea of breaking the niche into multiple micro niches on one site. So helpful!

Thank you, Holly!

I am sure that you will succeed, my friend!
