What does anyone think about paying extra for domain name privacy so no-one can look up your name and address, phone number etc on a WHOIS search. Is it worth it?

I think it is worth it. That way, your location is protected. Nobody will be able to find where you live with your personal domain info.

Hi, Harland.

In my opinion, domain name privacy is vital. I don't want my name, address & phone number available to spammers, telemarketers (and worse types). And, I don't want my contact information gathered and put on a list that gets sold over and over forever.

When you register your domain name through WA, WHOIS privacy is included in the price. The cost of registration varies. The lowest price is $13.99, but it can be higher. My (.com) domain's registration here, for example, cost me $16.99 for the first year, $13.99/year afterward.

An important fact to consider before you register your domain name is this: only Premium members can host their domains at WA.

Free ("Starter") members get free hosting for up to two (free) sub-domains: [yoursitename].siterubix. com.
Premium members get free hosting for up to 25 (free) sub-domains and free hosting* for up 25 domains: [yoursitename]. com/net/info, etc.

* hosting only. Domain name registration is a separate service and, as I said above, costs $13.99 or more per year.

Domain privacy is included in the price when you buy a domain name at WA. It's $13.99 for a dot com per year.

I would cause that would give you 25 sites on your own domain. And 25 sites on the site Rubix Domain.

Is it worth paying extra for domain name privacy?
