My First WA Blog Post and End of Level 2
Hi everyone!
I've completed my final lesson for Level 2 Certification Course and I'm excited about going to Level 3 lessons! But before I wrapped up Level 2, I'm supposed to create a blog post at WA to document my progress so far.
My Challenges Thus Far
Right after I joined the WA starter membership, I wandered off, caught by other "shiny objects" for about two months.
Then I told myself, it is better to focus and start now on building a strong foundation and setting up my own website for long-term success, rather than bumbling around and wasting time trying out different things.
So I refocused, completed my Level 1 certification, went Premium and Level 2 is about to be done too.
Another challenge is time. Everyone has time issues, and for me it's about finding time to get online while I take care of an active toddler.
Either I have to get up earlier before he does to sneak in some work time online, or I have to stay up later after he goes to sleep. I would have prefer getting up earlier after a night's sleep with a more refreshed mind than going online at the end of the day with an tired mind. I can go online during his daily nap too.
Anyway, I have to wisely spend my limited time online to work through the Certification courses, and stay focused. :)
My First WA Website
http://mytoddlerisreading.com
This is my first website created based on WA training! I've created websites before but this one is created following through my training here, which by the way I've enjoyed going through. This niche I've chosen is very closely related to what I am currently doing at this time of my life, teaching my toddler son to read at home.
7 Things I Like about WA
- The visions that Kyle and Carson have for WA and their willingess to help others succeed online.
- The encouraging, warm and friendly community here. Even the founders are here to answer questions and help out anyone. I am sure they are also vigilant about keeping the community vibes positive and upbeat. I've PM two persons before and have gotten wonderful responses and help. I'm grateful for this.
- The many helpful and updated training articles, infographics, videos created by WA members to help out other WA members. How generous and wonderful is that!
- The certification lessons have been easy-to-follow, doable, and fun! I love it that the videos are short, to the point, and I didn't doze off! In the past, I've watched some longer training videos from somewhere else and dozed off. ;)
- Because of going through the certification lessons and with the friendly and supportive community here, I've learned to share my comments in discussions and on members' websites. I used to be a big lurker. But at WA, with people chipping in with encouraging comments, it's easy to comment along too even if I struggle to put my thoughts into words at times. A short, thoughtful comment here and there, and before I know it, it's not so hard to be commenting after all.
- Using Wordpress to create a website is straightforward if we follow along Kyle's training. I've used another website builder before and the learning curve was steeper. Wordpress is powerful, sophisticated and yet manageable.
- The keyword research portion is understandable and easy! I used another keyword research platform in the past, and wondered why keyword research had to be complex and confusing, involving analysis and cross analysis that had me lost somewhere, and leaving me with a uncertain feeling. Now, keyword research is simplified and I'm feeling more confident with the keywords I've gathered.
I'm not the fastest rabbit, I'm advancing at my own pace and yet within the time I've spent doing the lessons, my website has taken shape and form, my enthusiasm grows and I'm forward looking to more.
My Upcoming 3-Month Plans and Goals
To have fun learning and enjoy what I am doing.
To complete my Level 3 and 4 Certification Courses.
To create at least 15 low-hanging fruit keywords pages of helpful content.
To start getting ranked and traffic from Google.
To add in affiliate links to my pages.
To earn my first affiliate sale!
My Upcoming 6-Month Plans and Goals
To continue to have fun learning and enjoy what I am doing.
To create more helpful content for my website.
To see a consistent trickling in of affiliate sales from my website.
To either go more in-depth with this niche or create a second website.
In the next few months, I have to have faith, put in the time, efforts, and focus to work on my WA website to start seeing results, so I can continue to stay-at-home with my toddler son, and NOT have to go out to look for a job!
Thanks for reading!

Great blog.
Those shiny distractions can be annoying can't they?
Good luck with level 2 and beyond
Thanks Bald Eagle, I'm glad you enjoyed my post! Yes shiny objects are so alluring and yet annoying, getting people side-tracked. So I have to stay focused on one thing now. :)

Keep up the good work! Sounds like you've really thought about your goals.
Thanks Blair! I did think about my goals a bit as I believe writing or rather typing them down sort of clarifies the goals better for me. Another benefit I could think of is that by documenting my goals in this blog post is that I could refer to it later. :)
