Wordpress 5 and permalinks

I love WordPress 5, don't get me wrong but it does do some quirky things.

In a couple of posts when I went to review the results the permalinks had changed to a date format. They were being well-read so I thought just carry on but in my latest post I checked the permalink and it was all wrong.
OK, go to settings everything OK there check headings and when all else fails go to Google.
Sorry the last place is Marion but that is desperate time.

I went to settings - permalink- change settings - change back and save.

Problem solved. I hope this one day saves someone a bit of time
