How the Olympic games relates to the internet experience

They were standing on the podium, broad smiles spread across happy faces listening proudly to their National anthem playing.

These are the winners on a day of triumph competing against the best in the world in a chosen field of endeavor.

What a glorious feeling of achievement on the day of reckoning.

However what you don't see is the journey to the top.

For example;

Australia was just awarded the 2032 Olympics eleven years away. That means that children of eight or nine must start their training to reach the top.

If they achieve a Gold Medal they will be given $20,000 by the government for bringing glory to the land. They get much less for Silver and bronze of course.

When I think about our journey at Wealthy Affiliate, chasing a dream as grand as a Gold medal the time spent in training pales in comparison to what the athletes do.

After 11 years of constant grind, injuries, failures and relapses I would want to make $20k a week in my chosen field of endeavor.

So when I complain that my internet journey is slow and my rewards tardy in coming forward I now relate to those smiling faces of achievement on the Okymic Dias.

It has a reality jolt of what is required to become the best. It takes time and consistent dedication to a purpose.

Off course, they have a coach but so do we at Wealthy Affiliate, they have a plan that extends 11 years ahead not days or months but years of grind and at times wanting to give it all up.

No, we are not Olympic athletes however the comparison on what it takes to be at the peak of performance exists in your internet journey.

When you want to give up, probably screaming at the Keyboard "I can't do this" remember you can. Our track and field events are the same as theirs, hard work and focus on the end result.

So don't complain when you have worked hard for six months and can't see the light ahead because that light might be years away however it exists some time in the future for you.

You may not take home Gold or any medal at all but you will be in the field of achievement and achieve a PB (personal best)

I wrote this because it opened my eyes to the road ahead, it takes time and constant application however there is an end to it all when we get the opportunity to stand on the Dias and shout

" We have done it!"

Gold to you.

It does indeed take time and dedication to set yourself to the work and journey to achieve the success you set out in your plan. There will be many bumps along the way but consistency and dedication will cause success to follow. Nice post Peter.

Great, inspiring piece, Peter! In more ways than one, the Olympic games compare to our online marketing business. So much grind, so much wear and tear, and then the Gold in the end.
But only if you are in for the long haul. Some people bail before they strike gold

Excellent analogy, Peter!
