In Un-Charted Waters
So it's been about 3 week now since I cast off on this journey with WA and I'm still struggling with this. It's not moving as quick as I had hoped, but I am starting to get the feel of how it's suppose to work. And I'm not giving up! The one thing I have learned is to face a fear - of writing. (You can probably tell , huh?) Having spent my entire career in the finace field, it's all been numbers. But I'm forcing myself to write and taking Kyles advice to just do it fast, it dosen't have to be a novel, just 'get er done'. I actually feel good when I finish a task - but dred getting a grade on it.
I'm such a newbie at this online web stuff, I'm trying to foucs on that. All this WA blog and rankings and post seem like a distraction to me so my apologies for not participating. I don't fell like I know enought to offer anyone help. And, I was just getting the feel of the website, then it changed! I'm tryng to get a handle on all this...
One of the things I think I goofed on was my niche. I didn't have one in mind so I took the suggestion to go with WA. I do have a strong interest in it as I think working on your own and from home is a hot topic on the web (It got me here!). But it was suggested I complete the OEC first before the BootCamp. So here I am. Also, I'm not happy with the theme I chose for my website. I asked about changing that and was told it can be done, but with very little instruction how to. I took a shot at it, but backed off when it looked like I was going to wipe everything out. So My plan is to finsh the OEC with what I have, then complete BC, but figure I will wipe the slate clean then and start over fresh. I'm thinking by then I'll know enough to really start to build my business.
For starters, I'll refine my site that fits the WA niche. But I also got a couple ideas from watching Kyle in the classes and want to start a different line that focuses on outdoor activities that I know and like. Ok, love! Skiing, sailing, and biking just to name a few.
I've got to focus and get this gig launched and start making some headway and bring some money in. I don't need a ton, just enough to prove the concept that it can be done.
So, just letting it run here. Open to advice and suggestions if you got any. I do appreciate all the support and help I have received - thank you.

I see you have a link to help you find a niche. It something that you feel you can write about for a while. It can be finance for that matter. You can always start a new site with a new niche.
As far as changing themes, I've changed mine a few times. It's not that hard Get through additional training so you feel more confident. I know it's all scary at first. You'll get over it. 🤗

Yo my namesake. I think that regarding your website you should lean on your mentor and if not buddy up with other affiliates that can provide support on your site development. For perhaps more technical issues you can turn to Site Support.
On the point of defining and drilling down on your niche did you see the article and video Choose a Niche I know it is tough at time and when you got those wonderful outdoor attractions even more so. But make a plan that gives you enough time to keep momentum forward in WA. Before long you will be inviting me on yacht to sail to the Maldives.

Thanks for the input. I do need to find a mentor that I can ping when stumped. I did not see the article on niche, but will read/watch it now. Kind of think I'm too far down the path right now to change course. I'm eager just to get through the training program and (hopefully) see the big picture. Ha
Once I get this gig to take off, the boat is at the top of the list and you'll get the invite. I'm holding you to that.
