Anyone else see importance in Instagram?
I've been going through the social media training and I see that there is no real mention of instagram. I started an instagram for a business idea a couple months before I found WA and with only 1,400 followers I am able to make close to $100 every week. I wonder if anyone else has found any success with instagram? Also I would love to make this a thread where we can all share insights on how to use it, gain more followers, and get people to our blogs. If you have any info or questions please comment I would love to hear(:
My current instagram I am using for my site is @natures_healings

Wow,
When you are old school, you certainly have much catching up to do, regardless of your computer experience. I do not have any idea on Instagram, by the way, but with 1,400 followers, you have a leverage to start making good moniz.
I am getting some notice, more and more. I am not monetized, have only posted a couple of pics, nothing else, but I follow gobs of people in my niche, alt health and essential oils, no particular company, and photographers who take pics of beautiful scenery. I have learned how to hashtag and did not know about a top 9 on an explore page. I usually use my phone in spare moments, but am experiencing difficulty with the laptop view. I do not see a post button. Figure I could Google directions, but if you have any suggestions I do appreciate it.

I followed you back and thank you!
I'm no pro at instagram but like I mentioned, I am able to make money from it, not by affiliating so this is new to me. I am thinking about testing some theories out for a bit and then maybe posting some sort of guide for it. The main priority would be to have a way to get people to your site from your instagram, but sometimes that can look like spam if that's all you ever talk about. I'm going to see if I can include some content-type captions for my images, get people reading and interested and then perhaps refer them to read more on my site. I'll try out a few different ways and see which draw the most traffic and share with the rest of the class(:
Thanks! One thing I am trying to do is establish a presence and be known for promoting safety in the use of essential oils, so I just watch for any little thing they are talking about to learn about this and ask questions, but also liking their efforts at a nice display, especially the ones with beautiful pics of nature or natural displays. They seem to know I am around and respond to the comments with appreciation. I will gain a reputation for not spouting off and not taking sides as to the best E.O. company. I want to be known as a reviewer and search for guest bloggers to draw comments to my site. Do you think I am on the right road? Helping them with their business via use of hashtags to draw attention to their work is a WA learned action that I hope will catch on. What do you think? You just now saw how I did this for you. Some have looked at my website and posts, only one or two. I also thought there used to be a re-post button. Laptop issue?

Continue to share your ideas. Don't know anything about Instagram. Even so, it a valid means to get the word out about whatever you choose. Tell us more about your experiences and how you've arrived to where you are now in the use of Instagram. Thanks.
I use Instagram and it is very powerful.
Instagram is all about getting the right hastags and getting on the top 9 of the explore page of your chosen hastags.
There are many people who are crushing it on Instagram. I am still learning.

I agree that it is very beneficial but for some reason it is less spoken about on WA. You made a very valid point a lot of people don't realize that hashtags are essentially the only way to get your photos seen. I will follow you!
