There is one pet peeve of mine and that is when writers do not edit or proofread their writing. I am not saying that I am a great writer or that I don't make mistakes in my own writing. When I do come across a piece of writing that is filled with mistakes I tend to click off it right away or do not take their opinion seriously. Many of you are fantastic writers and I aspire to write at a higher level. We have the tools to create our best writing, we all need to be conscious about making silly mistakes over and over again. I am not picking out anyone specific here I am just going by texts that I read on line. Maybe it is just the teacher in me. I hope I didn't make any mistakes here :)

Good post my friend. My mother and I were just talking about this today. It's sad that when you read a newspaper you see so many grammatical and spelling mistakes. I said to her that time was when an editor would check each article and throw it back to the writer to correct any mistakes. Back in those days, there weren't too many mistakes to correct because the writer took pride in his craft and did his own proof reading before sending it to the editor for approval. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I think we will always have some mistakes from time to time even we have edited a number of times.

Yes, the key is to limit them the best we can.

I agree with you Gregory. However, I edit my blogs three times and still find mistakes. I've decided it's not me, it's the Gremlins. Jim

Great post, Gregory, I'm of the same opinion.

So true. There really is no excuse for bad writing as we have all the tools we need here. Ancient Greek was written without punctuation marks... English is not.

Mistakes will happen from time to time we need to make sure we can limit them as much as possible.
