Has anyone else been locked out of your amazon account?

I was locked out last week on March 29th, but still able to order and view my account from the iPhone app. My profile is still up and I was even able to create affiliate links. But could not sign in from my computer.

I called Amazon last week and they said my account was closed and they would send a message to the department responsible for reopening it and would get back to me within 2 business days. They didn't tell me why it was closed.

Email I got April 5th.

Hello from Amazon.

Thank you for contacting Amazon Customer Service. We have reviewed your account and confirmed it was deactivated for violations of our Community Guidelines and Conditions of Use.

Your account has been deactivated for one or both of the following reasons:
-- Your reviews were posted in exchange for compensation, such as gift cards to purchase the product, product refunds, review swaps, or free or discounted products; and/or
-- Your account was used for commercial purposes.

We have submitted your account for re-consideration and will advise in the next 7 business days if your account is eligible for reactivation.

In the meantime, if you have made digital purchases (e.g. movies, audible. com, books) the content is now available to you.

Thank you.

Anyone have any info has this happened to you?

UPDATE 1 Account Restored

Amazon has restored accounts. But.....

After what happened over the last week, I have very little trust in Amazon. After writing over 300 reviews on Amazon and being a top 600 reviewer, I doubt I'll ever write another review on their platform again + I'll be changing all my Amazon affiliate links to other affiliate programs as well.

Update 2: Reviews Deleted

After about a month of my account returned to normal they delated all my reviews ( Over 300) and will not let me ask questions on products.

After calling them and waiting about 7 days I got to emails.

So the moral of the stories is, don't leave reviews on Amazon.

"Your community privileges may have been revoked for one or more of the following reasons" ?????

Seems like a one-size fits all/generic email?

This clearly indicates that after what they call "carefully considering your account." that there was nothing careful about it.

I wrote 100's of reviews over the last two years and had 1000's of useful votes. Now Amazon is telling me that these are basically fake reviews ??? What ?

Plus they block me from even asking questions about products. What?

Come on folks, this is extremely bad customer service.

I'm glad I decided to signup for Amazon Prime on a month to month basis instead of signing up for a year as I did in past years. Now I can easily cancel Prime and shop elsewhere.

Highly Unfortunate

Greg

It hasn't happened to me thankfully, there must be something that has gone againist their long list of rules. Hopefully you will have good news in 7 days

It seems to have happened to 1000's of accounts as reported by Business Insider. Amazon only sent out that email after Business Insider posted an article about.
