Hey all! I am so glad I have made it to level 2! I really did not meet the time goals but I never gave up.

I frustrate myself when I plan and don't stick to it, I let go and then life gets in the way. I am not making any excuses but there are just some things you cannot control. It has been a recurring theme in my week.

If your a social media geek like myself, you would know that you can find some real treasures online especially on your twitter threads, FB news feed or the good ol snappy snapchat! Apart from the odd seemingly disgusting ones where you have to click Hide post. Some of your friends do have valuable things to say that can really inspire you through a motivational quote, image or video.

Opening my Facebook this week after a long and draining week, I came across a post from a trustworthy friend with a quote stating the obvious. " When you can't control whats happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond. That's where your power lies'

I really had to let go of some things that were happening in my life this week and channeled my energy into the things I could, and how to best respond.

This week one of our main household laptops with all of my personal images and files crashed and my family was only able to retrieve some of these files. Lesson learned 1- get a hard drive and backup all your files. Our internet service provider was playing up for 3 days so no access to the internet. Lastly one of my family members passed away tragic accident unexpectedly.

Not only did it end tragically but his so called friends were under investigation for criminal activity based around his death. My family were in dispute with a Gofundme campaign and requested for donors to demand refunds. So my family turned to social media to spread the word because of Gofundme's inability to respond appropriately. Unfortunately my family wanted to move on in peace. Press no charges, furthermore they chose to stay away from media and refrained from making the story public.

I was upset! How could these people get away with this? How can we prevent this from happening to other people? We needed to go public. I so badly wanted to control this situation. But I had to respect my family's wishes.

What would be my last post on social media I warned my friends and families of the danger of online scamming. I sent one strong email to Gofundme claiming their inability to respond appropriately. I also warned them of the lack of policies that protect people from using dead peoples names for their own monetary gain. It was then I stopped.

Although these things are all good, I must admit it felt like a hopeless effort . But I was wrong. People listened and responded, suddenly my one email and post became many emails and posts and people hooked on, they were very supportive. Although my family suffering could not go on any longer. Those who knew my family member and those who stood for Justice knew that they had a voice too. The Gofundme campaign raised about 47k and with the knowledge now spread to donors, this had significamtly decreased within a couple days to 31k.

I guess the point is, a little goes a long way. What I thought of those small posts as hopeless went a long way and touched the hearts of those donors through social media. I read other blogs and reviews of the similar experiences and this brought me a lot of consolation. I guess some things are left to the world to figure out! We just do our best and hope for the best.

I now I am aware of the power that I possess.

Thanks guys for reading

Peace

x Grace

Be strong, Grace

Hello Grace, the more you read, listen and see, you will realise one person can make a difference. There are three things you should never sacrifice: your family, your heart and or your dignity.

Thanks HarveyBrown!
