Does Safelist Marketing Work – Or Just A Waste Of Time?

Many people use safelists in their internet marketing, so the question is relevant: Does safelists marketing work?

What is safelist marketing

What is a safelist? It is a kind of traffic exchange. You can send your email to a safelist (let’s say they have 15000 members) and in exchange you are reading emails from these members. —- Why is it called safelist? —- Because from these safelists many emails are sent out, but the members has agreed to receive emails from the other members, otherwise the emails would end up in the spam folder.

On the picture you see a typical safelist called “THE LEAD MAGNET” This list has been around for quite a while and are considered as one of the most reputable safelists. And I can tell you there are many both good and not so good.

Why do people use safelists?

Many who start to try to make money online, normally have one problem, no traffic to their offer. With no traffic, no revenue. Therefor they reason: "if I sign up to a few safelists I will have the opportunity to send my offer to quite a few people."

However, to be able to send their offer to others they need to read other peoples emails. The safe lists are credit based. Let’s say you get 15 credits to read another person’s offer and the credits are not given you before a certain time, let’s say 15 seconds. Now you want to send your offer to the whole list maybe around 15000 members. 1 credit is normally counted as 1 email to 1 member. It means that you need to click for around 16 hours before you can send your email to all the 15000 members. Additonally this doesn't that all members will open your email. If you send to all there will only be a certain amount of clicks.

Some circumvent this by open a few safelists let’s say 5 into different tabs and click on the first safelist and immediately go to the next one and click, and so on and when they are back to the first one they just repeat the procedure. All this in order to accumulate traffic. In this way they can accumulate traffic to send to 75.000 people, but they still have to click for around 3 hours.

Is it worth it?

It is a relevant question and let us look closer to the situation. Let’s say that the majority of the members use this method. It will not be so effective since most of them will not even see your offer. They are like you, clicking for credits. Is there any way to use safelists in a more productive way? Maybe it should be to upgrade.

Every safelist has an OTO (one time offer) when you sign up for a safelist. That is actually an upgrade offer that is a little cheaper if you act when you sign up. Every safelist has this. It is the same pattern with all of them.

An offer like this will give you access to more credits easier than just click as a free member. You can see the benefits from the screenshot below.

But to upgrade will cost you money. Let’s say that you upgrade on 5 safelists with an average of $10 —- that will cost $50 per month. Could these $50 be used in a better way?

Conclusion

Does safelist marketing works? It might work to certain degree, but most of the people in the safelists are there to get traffic to their website or their offer because they don’t know how to get real traffic to their sites. No there must be better ways get traffic to your site. For example Wealthy Affiliate.

All the best

I had never heard of this before, Goran!

Jeff

It is quite common for newbies. If you Google traffic exchanges or safelist exchanges you will find a lot. They are working at same principles.

Thanks for the clarification, Goran!

So Goran based upon your review sounds like Safelists typically get a thumbs down. As Granny said, 'quick thing ain't no good thing'.

I have heard someone talk about these in the past. They are pretty good if you are first starting out. But it's not a sustainable solution. They also mentioned that if you are not using one of the top 5 to 10 safelists, then you could just be in a money pit.

That's all I know for sure other than speculation. I hope it was helpful.

It is true, you get clicks but the people there are just there for traffic. If you offer something that can increase their traffic then you might get some results. Clickbank has a few programs, but you never know if they are legit. But thanks for your reply.
