This Old Dog & Janis Joplin

As I was working on my social media connections today with my WA website, I pondered all of the amazing things that I have learned here at WA and, of course, this led me to thoughts of one of my favorite late 1960's rock & roll artists, Janis Joplin.

As if it were only yesterday, I heard in my mind's ear that raspy, perfect pitched, short little drug-abuser sing...Try...try...try...just a little bit harder now.... A great song "Try" by a strange woman but oh so important to my efforts here at WA.

I write, I edit, I write, and edit some more. Am I getting anywhere? Heavens yes! Every day I feel myself getting closer and closer to realizing my dreams with my website. But there are regrets!

For example, I wish that I would have completed all of my WA course work before I ever started to build my website and link that website up to things like Google +. I have made so many mistakes with the website. I know that, NOW, I could have made it even better and really neat had I not jumped into it with both LEFT FEET. Sure, I can modify the site and I am doing that wherever I feel that I can get away with it without upsetting Google+ or now any of the social media sites that I am involved with. But to a certain degree, the die is cast.

I also realize that the training was (is) so good here at WA that maybe I should have considered a second niche...writing and producing websites for small businessmen. So I have a few regrets here at WA but many more very positive aspects to my involvement with the WA community. Where else, when you are feeling a little down, can you spot and open a pattucker "feel good" piece and simply turn that frown into a happy face. :>) DAN

Way to go, Dan! You have gone a long, long way in your WA journey. Keep moving on until you get to the top! All the best ~Betcha

Thank you very much Betcha for your kind comments. I appreciate it very much. DAN

I have stayed with my one niche but have changed the name of my website a couple of times and have changed my theme several times s all the best

Maxiam59: Thank you for your comment. DAN

Yep Dan we all have been there at one time or another. I have changed my niches so many times, it is funny. Lol!
But I think I am on the right tract now. We will see right.! Lol!

LInda, I hope you are on the right track also. We only have so many hours in the day (even for WA) so we have to make the most of it. Let's hope that 2016 is the year that both you and me move our websites to full potential. DAN

We will! Just keep up the positive thinking and attitude.

Thanks Linda. DAN

Ya, I know the feeling Dan...I am looking at mine and I think I have to do it over or change a lot of it. I had the wrong idea about affiliate marketing and have to rethink this now. This all came about after talking to my sponsor from WA and looking at other websites. Oh well this is a learning process especially for me where all this is new to me. The only thing I ever new before this was painting...I have to keep going back over the lessons till it sinks in along with getting help from other members.

Oh, by the way, that is a real nice pic of Janos Joplin. She was one of my favorites...

Gary: I know exactly how you are feeling. I would do so much differently if I could (google+ problems) and had the time. I have even considered starting over but the clock says NO. DAN

God bless you, Gary. You are now officially one of my good friends here at WA. ANYONE that liked or still likes JJ is a friend of mine. DAN

Yup, and I thought I was off to a good start Dan. Luckily for me there's no rush I will just take my time and make sure I have it right this time.
Gary

Thanks Dan, I feel honored, lol...Hey if you'd like to check out a video of her, I have one on my timeline on Facebook. It's one of my favorite songs of hers. https://www.facebook.com/gary.shepard.566
Gary

Gary FB would let me pull it up. What is the title? I will find it and listen to it. DAN

Hi Dan, are you on FB? if so you can share it on your site and you will have it. If your not there I'm not sure. I wonder if I can put it on your site here on private message. Let me know if you can't get it and I will try that. Good luck, Gary

Dan I just typed this in the URL and it was there if you don't want to bother with FB Gary.....
Girl Blue - Live on Tom Jones [LIVE Show 19].

Thanks buddy. I get it from here. DAN

No problem Dan, my pleasure.

Hey Dan, look how far you have come.. glad to see you are doing well and your site is improving too.

Thanks pattucker. I appreciate the positive comment. DAN

Sure thing Dan, we could always do things better or different, but let's focus on what you are doing well at and continue to improve.

Got it pattucker. Thank you. DAN

Hey Dan,
You know all of us probably feel the same way you do. I started a niche and now went to another! We learn as we progress and that is how this business works.
I am sure that even if we would have waited, we still would have made mistakes.
Keep going forward and you will succeed.
Sheila

Sheila: You are a peach young woman. Thank you so much for your positive comment. I appreciate it. AND yes I probably would have fouled up somewhere else had I waited for the course work to concluded. DAN

I think the reason I've learned so much is because I made so many mistakes. I eventually learn something from each one.
B...

Good point, Barry. But I have wasted so much time (and wonderful WAers time) with my mistakes. But so true...I am learning. DAN

Thanks Dan. I can relate to everything you have posted here, and I do mean everything. And oh, I love Janis! She left us much too soon.
Unfortunately once upon a time herione was a legal drug and many became addicted. Sadly today even with more knowledge there are again so many addicts falling into its trap. WA is a strong community to help people help other people with their goals and that is a very good addiction.

Kari: EVERYTHING you just said is absolutely correct and thank you for reminding me. But having said that you liked Janis Joplin's music now makes you a friend for life. I thought that she was wonderful. WA is a wonderful addiction. I love it. DAN

Not time for regrets Dan you have learned from certain choices you made nothing is set in stone and you can still get there . as I say to the grand children do not make me sing the frowny face song ha ha.. you will get there and you have learned what not to do along the way to, heck I have made mistakes along the way and will continue to do so. one thing I am glad I did do was go along with a niche I understood so that reduced some of the learning and helped me focus on the skills I needed to learn, this year I am aiming for regular work and income if you did not watch Jays webinar on 1st Jan it is worth looking at

Thanks Katie for your kind words and advice. I am learning. That is for sure. Also, I will check out Jay's Jan 1 webinar. DAN

We can all set this year on fire eh

Got that right Katie. DAN

That is how we learn. By making mistakes.
I love how WA teaches us by immediately jumping in with both feet. They tell us to make mistakes, by making those checklists for us to tick off.

Thank you for the very informative comment. Terrible thing is I completed the checklists and I still screwed up. Thanks for the reply. DAN
