This Old Dog-Four Score and Ten Days Ago
Four-score and ten days ago (October 15, 2015) this old dog found Wealthy Affiliates. What a day. What a find! I was not sure what I was doing as I had only given the idea of developing a website some transitory thought. But I knew that I wanted something. So I started and set my website up as a subdomain on Site Rubix and started to do just about everything WRONG.
I asked for help and got it. I bothered MarionBlack and Ignorant (Bert) more than I should have and just bull-nosed ahead. I quickly found the “feel good” queen, pattucker and left several less than coherent messages to her. Then I created my first blog for WA and as quickly as it went up it came down. Apparently, Kyle and Carson, or the WA robots that watch over the website, felt as though it contained words that were “not quite” appropriate for the WA crowd. There was only one person, Ignorant, that saw and reported to me of this gross violation of my constitutional rights. I had no idea that the “take down” had occurred until my WA friend told me so. However, in retrospect, I understand why this was done.
So, since my first blog was pulled down before anyone but Bert saw it, during the first month I had little email traffic from the WA Community other than those tale-tale encouragement emails from Kyle and Carson. I simply had not realized that there was another huge aspect to WA (the communication from within the WA Community).
Then to my surprise, I had a desire to write my second Blog. I wrote it void of any words that would offend the WA Email Police and within minutes I started to receive emails from the community. It was like something clicked on inside of me. People at WA were actually (at least somewhat) interested in what I was saying. I had become part of the gang. For the first time in my life, I was writing words that I wasn’t getting paid to write and other people were reading and responding to those words. What a liberating moment! I loved it and tried it again and again and people kept commenting.
I realized that, as I was reading their responses to my blog, I got caught up in reading and responding to their blogs. I was hooked. I began spending hours on the website. I kept learning more and more about WordPress and I found that I could actually help other people (who weren’t paying me to help them) with their concerns here at WA.
I have thought hard about this WA elixir in order to find out what has happened to me. The result of this quest is that WA is Community and I am part of it. In all of this, I also have a website that I am very proud of. All of this happening just four-score and ten days ago. DAN

HI Dan! Great words! I'll definitely read your other blogs. I'd agree that WA makes us double or quadruple our time to share and listen to others in the community. It comes out naturally.
See you around..
Jojo
