Where Is Your Traffic Coming From?
Are you monitoring where your traffic is coming from?
If you aren't I'd suggest you do so for your own benefit and for your business growth. Reason? Because you can see where the most traffic is coming from and really target down on that niche to grow further exposure, being that it seems your most reliable source for new visitors and old re-visitors.
Now I know it's sometimes easier to say, but I'm going to be completely transparent here and say, we dropped the ball for a while and wasn't monitoring what we didn't know, turned to be one of our main sources of traffic. That source being StumbleUpon.
For those that have heard of StumbleUpon might actually already know the benefits and how it's actually a great source for new traffic. For those that aren't aware of StumbleUpon, it's a discovery / web search engine that finds and recommends web content to its users with main features that consists of; allowing users to discover and rate web pages, photos and videos that are personalized to their tastes and interests using peer-sourcing and social-networking principles.
Lets just say after receiving an email from StumbleUpon to say "Your Pages Are Being Stumbled!" - I decided to click on it, all to see that on just one specific blog post, we had 3,887 views and 70+ likes!
This particular blog post was a "How To" which could well be why it attract so many viewers, they tend to be a popular search. What was great about it was that this blog was hosted on our website, so to view it they would have been directed to our site.
What does that equal? = More Traffic ✔✔
Now this wasn't the only blog post we had shared on our StumbleUpon Page, we had numerous others which also had views and likes but this particular blog on "how to start an online business" seemed to attract the most.
Here is the link to this particular blog we posted on StumbleUpon: http://stumble.it/1QvoxbK - please do pay a visit!
Before this email came through, we didn't realise just how effective StumbleUpon could be for our content and so didn't use it much, however after seeing how much traffic was generated from it, we've decided to add it to our list as a "Must Use" for sharing our content and connecting with others in the niche. Not to mention that StumbleUpon has it's own App! What's better than a platform that's not only mobile-friendly but has an Easy-to-use App you can download straight to your phone? Everyone loves a good app.
Lastly my message to you is to make sure you monitor where you are generating most of your traffic from and 'use it and abuse it' as such, in a good way -- in other words simply make that niche a priority and use it often to grow your exposure and share your content. This also allows you to cut out the platforms that aren't benefiting you so much or generating much traffic at all.
Save Time on what isn't working; Spend time on what is working.

siddiq007: Obviously, you only install plug-ins that will help you create and maintain a better website. Too many installed plugin simply slow your site down. If you think that StumbleUpon would help you, it is very important to take the final step. On the left index bar once you are into site rubix open up plug-ins and then click on new. Once there insert the plugin title into the search bar and click search. Once StumbleUpon is pulled up check to see if the plugin is compatible with the latest WP version. Then check how many people have installed the plugin. You don't always want to follow the crowd but it is a good indicator as to whether or not OTHERS think that the plug-in is viable. Check for any comments about the plug-in. Better safe than sorry. Good luck. DAN
