High Ranking DA SiteRubix Sites - could it be?
Now, unless I'm dreaming, I've seen siterubix.com websites ranking incredibly well in respect to Domain Authority. DA 46 to be exact.
I use the free MOZ toolbar so I can see these easily.
What impact does this have for our websites starting out and into the future? I know DA is important of course, but I'd welcome a little more specifics on this if anyone can help.
Thank you!

asiteaboutmakingmoney.siterubix.com has the same DA as siterubix.com because the subdomain has the same DA as the root domain.
But that's the only metric that's the same.
Use the Moz open site Explorer comparison tool ( free for a few searches) to compare metrics of Siterubix.com & your subdomain
Google doesn't like to rank subdomains. Think about how many you see in SERPs.
You might see them occasionally, as there is a thing called ' parasite SEO ' where you can use subdomains of big social sites Eg Tumblr, wordpress etc , to take advantage of their DA & also the fact you can throw loads of spammy links at it to get it ranked - but that's not the sort of thing covered by WA.
So, don't bother trying to rank a siterubix site. Switch to your own domain name.
Thank you Ian!
... that helps a lot
Interesting blog. Thanks.
Can you say more about DMOZ. many talk about it. Is there a training on how to use it to find profitable niches.
Best
Hi Phil
... we are talking about MOZ and not DMOZ.
Two different things.
