Yes, as the heading says, thats whats its been for me ...think i joined W.A in early Feb cant remember now ive had so many night shifts on here i forget what day it even is .As when i get on my mac i sit on this thing all through the night ( i'm writing this now and its 13:29 in the uk i still haven't been to bed yet ) oh well its not like ive gotta get up wen im told now) looking through stuff, thinking yea that would be a good niche oh ...but thats good also ..makin my brain ache . And still not there yet but whats the rush i'm happy to be doing this at my speed, no boss on my back, saying come on hurry up... good riddance to those days ..well i hope so. Im having fun putting content on my site haha haven't a clue yet how i'm supposed to link it with any affiliated products yet, haha, it looks more like a recipe book than a web site for selling things..so its what i like to do i like to cook well i was a chef, although, i'm not any more but i still cook . and cooking is my thing .Lol think i've chosen one of the hardest niches eg, i gotta cook the food i got on my site and take pics during the prep and making, and then so much typing writing all the recipes and methods out ..but still enjoying it just a long job actually putting affiliate links seems so far in the distance. But i'm sure ill get there.Ive spent most of the day looking through affiliate programs but they all seem unsuitable for what i do, unless i want to sell food supplements .don't even know why i'm looking cos i'm not ready for any affiliate products yet still got alot of work to do,but enjoyable work im sure it will all be worth while when a few pennies come rolling in,

Anyway thats my thoughts for today 02/03/15 all the best to every member on here and everybody who has helped me get this far ...thanks.

Thanks for following. Having worked in the administrative side of the food industry I know how challenging it is. All the best.

thank you all for your encouraging words

You're on right track, keep going forward.

It's going to be a challenge for you but I am sure you will be successful.Good luck Glove

I commend you for choosing a challenging niche and rising to the occasion. I'm excited to see how things progress!

Thanks dan i kinda looking forward to it myself if i get there haha

Hi Adrian

Thought the countryside looked very British!

No rush for affiliates promotions yet you need to build your content to get traffic. No traffic no sales anyway. Simple.

Apart from your recipes you could also review culinary item used in their preparations, Knives, pans, gadgets etc. The fact that you were/are a chef will add weight to your opinions.

Use your recipes to draw people to your website then speak with authority.

You could then promote such items that have passed the Adrian standard of approval. so to speak!

Wishing you every success.

Dave

hmm yes thanks dave never thought about the knives i was hoping for some fresh produce as well bit like Riverford do with there boxed meat and veg packs but nobody seems to sell a lot of fresh produce on here well not for the home owner theres the big companies like 3663 and brakes etc but there more for the restaurants and hotels etc and dont even think they have affiliate programs

Adrian

If this is your 1st venture into building websites and affiliate marketing
I personally believe you are thinking way too local.

You need to think who your target audience is, is it just the UK or worldwide etc.

Fresh produce by it's very nature will always be local and I don't think you would be able to attract a big enough audience to make it worthwhile.

I personally would initially target the US market as they by their very size are the largest market. Which is why I suggested kitchen items.

You could then look for US companies offering affiliate programs or become an Amazon Associate and have an Amazon store on your website. Which is probably what I would do initially and manually select the kitchen products I put in my store. (Actually very simple, though might sound daunting).

There are ways to show local promotions to only local people.
i.e. The US only see US adverts & the UK only sees UK adverts. Again not too difficult but I would not worry about this initially or perhaps ever if you had sufficient custom elsewhere.

Adrian DON'T GET BOGGED DOWN by this detail just yet as I now it's scary, but it is very early days. Concentrate on your writing and getting traffic.

If you want to target both the UK & US then you will need to include both forms of measurements in your recipes. US cups, for example.
and both degrees C and Degrees F.

Also, the Americans are a bit stingy with their pints which are smaller than ours etc.

Move forward 1 step at a time and don't try to shortcut any of the training.

Dave

thanks for that dave i was trying to coax a wider audience than just the uk stilol not entirely sure what im supposed to be writing about thats y i started to do a few easy recipes but after i started and seen how much writing i have done already i didnt have the heart to delete the site and start again
