Google Indexing Tool on Site Content - It Works!
Since Site Content was introduced to this platform a few months ago, I fell in love with it straightaway. I found then and I still think so, that this tool is a wonderful addition to the massive package offered by WA to make our life of wanna be online writers much easier. It's absolutely great for drafting posts and review, allows the the addition of inspiring copyright free pictures, and offers quite a good range (if not fully inclusive) range of word processing tools.
But, the one thing that from be beginning has kept puzzling me is the Google indexing. At one point, shortly after Site Content was introduced, I even asked the question here on WA as to whether the indexing worked at all. A lot of you at the time thought that there was a glitch in the system. And I agreed, as I knew that my work was being indexed by Google.
The only other reason why I thought it might not work for me is due to the actual format of my Site Content posts at the time of saving them on Site Content.
My content, before I 'deliver' it for publication onto WordPress, always looks like this:
As you can see, I write a list of keywords I may want to use. It makes my job easy, but it's very much at the draft stage. However, here's the news. This week I received an email from WA saying my latest post on Site Content had been Google indexed!!! And as I went to check it on Site Content, it showed this:
Yes, it was true. The G icon was coloured, and if I hovered over it, it told me the content had been indexed. And this in spite of me keeping my usual list of of useful keywords.I am elated!!!
I hope this is not a lucky one-off. I hope that little glitch may have been fixed. Time, and my next reviews and posts will tell.
Have you experienced the same lack of Google indexing on Site Content as me? Any thoughts on why Site Content may have started indexing me only now?
Look forward to your comments, to your Likes and to your shares :)

I was puzzled at first too if this is really working because I already had a lot of posts that ranked on Google but the G icon remained gray. Later on, I noticed that one by one the articles I published are getting indexed.
I do not yet how this works exactly but I noticed that for some posts it will only take a week or more for them to get indexed while the others took months.
Well, I'm happy even though not all of my posts have been indexed, yet.
So, maybe you've just answered my question. Maybe SC only catches up with Google later on, by week's and sometimes by months. That's a thought. Thank you ever so much!
Definitely working, I have 5 articles indexed by Google and I did not use fetch. Not sure why, but I need to find out.
Whereas I use fetch all the times. Now, Search Console tells me that a few of my posts are not indexed, but it also tells me that the majority is. Yet, when comparing them to the SC indexing, they don't match. I sounds to me like SC needs more work doing in that aspect.
Well there you go - I didn't even know that was there!
Thanks for pointing that out!
I notice that I have about 4 posts that haven't been indexed yet - one of them is a month old. Is that normal? Others have been indexed within a couple of days. That seems odd to me ...
Yes, that's the oddity of the whole indexing thing there on SC. the more comments I read, the more it sounds to me that that one bit of SC is still being looked into :)
I've been using site content for a while, and I wasn't aware of this. I just checked and only 1 of 52 published posts is indexed. Is there something we are suppose to do for it to work?
Gary,
I have been using Fetch as Google in the Google Search Console (old webmaster tools). I only have 5 pages and posts on site as I am new, but it has 4 of 4 indexed that I sent through fetch as google.
Yeah, that's how I got the one post got indexed. I thought maybe there was something automatic in Site Content so we didn't have to do that. LOL.
I guess not.
Hi Craig, Fetch as google definitely works well with SC. Of my 12 posts, 11 are indexed by google. :-)
@CraigKnight and Gary, I still do the Google Search Console fetch for all my posts (the published version, of course, not the draft one) and I thought SC may not recognise the indexation due the draft format I follow. But then it has quite randomly indexed this last one in its draft version. It sounds like the mystery has not yet been unfolded:)
I also asked about a glitch. I am still not showing indexed per SiteContent, though Google ensures me I am. Only my privacy policy and About Me page show indexed. The posts were written about a month ago.
After reading these comments, Shelley, I believe the glitch is still there. It appears that SiteContent still indexes randomly. Shame, because for everything else, it works absolutely perfectly.
I love the new site content platform! Especially in conjunction with Jaaxy. I got an email 24 hours after I published my post saying it was indexed on Google, and then I searched my ranking in Jaaxy to find out I was on page 1! WA just continues to keep getting better!
Definitely, there's no stopping those WA boys and girls!! But, when I check my ranking on Jaaxy, I have quite a few posts which are ranked in Google, and yet they never showed the indexing on Site Content. A mystery.
I noticed older posts not written inside Site Content will not show up in that platform. That could be why they are not being displayed properly although they are indexed.
Funny, I wrote about this last month. Yes, some of my posts are showing indexed per SiteContent and some are not. SiteContent index by Google icon working!
I've just read it, and yes, exactly the same as me. Funny business. I think the system had a glitch which WA is now trying to fix. I suppose, better later than never.

A little trial and error I think
Yep, definitely!
