Need opinions for which domain name to chose
I’m a bit slow at getting things off the ground here. Just wanting opinions and suggestions to help me settle on a domain name. I have narrowed down a long list of names to 4 and stuck at this point which one to go with. My niche is “Natural solutions for Depression and Anxiety ” …
NaturalCuresDepression.com (603 searches/mnth and green QSR 91)
NaturalTreatmentDepression.com (435 searches /mnth and green QSR 92)
The first two show nothing in Jaaxy whilst the last two has a few hundred searches and good SEO. However, I’ve heard it’s not very important to have a keyword in the domain name because it’s ‘content’ that will obtain rankings.
The website will contain various articles on depression and anxiety, how it manifests, the causes, and how my recommendations will lead to relief. I have many products on Amazon in mind for this venture, most of them are bottles of nutrients at about $50 each – not much commission on those! So it’d need to be extremely high conversion rates to make a profit. However, I’m considering other products such as the topic on how exercise can relieve depression/anxiety and recommending home gyms. Various ways to exercise at home and make it fun – the last thing a ‘depressed’ person wants is to ride a boring static bike! I’m sure there’s something out there with a healthier price tag.
I feel good about establishing myself as an authority in this niche from my background as a Naturopath. In fact I attended a Naturopathic update today on the latest research into Mood disorders and Addictions and my mind was racing with all the ideas it gave me for content on this new site.
I wonder why I didn’t do it years ago. I only found out about WA recently! Where has it been hiding? So there are still so many people out there making mistakes with website businesses who could really be benefiting from WA.
Anyway, thanks for reading and look forward to any feedback…
George.

George now days the domain does not need to be keyword specific, can it help to have the keyword in the name? Yes it can, but not enough to where you will notice the difference really, it's the content you put on the site that needs to be optimized. However if you know you want to use the site for only 1 niche then it wouldn't hurt to have the keyword in the name.
You could have a site for all sort of natural solutions for example an available domain is natureshelp (dot)net, you could create pages or categories for various natural solutions for more than just depression if you wanted to as long as the content is optimized it should get indexed for your keywords. This could open up more possible visitors/traffic because you could address multiple natural topics.
Thanks for the advice Jack. Yes I have spent a great deal of time on another website that had many different health topics but all aimed at invoking people to call me for a consultation. It wasn't an affiliate program.
My goal this time is to really hone in on just the one niche and be an authority on the subject. Otherwise it gets too drawn out and confusing when there's so many different topics and difficult to keep the learning process going for them all "Jack of all trades but master of none"... So the idea is to focus on just "depression/anxiety" solutions and stick with that.
Now it's deciding on a domain name and that's my only hurdle now. Ready to jump right in and start the website and begin posting!!!
George, you are really an intelligent man and have a great deal of info on a subject that affects thousands of people worldwide. Depression is no joke and the cures are well, to me, worse than the disease itself. Natural cures are becoming the thing and you have a good chance to succeed with it. Keep it coming and I hope you continue to pursue your goals and dreams.
Oh, as for the title you have it already. depression/anxiety.com.Try that in the free website on WA as a way to "see" if that will be a fit. Hope that helps.

Hey George, targeting a specific keyword is helpful for rankings but it isn't a decisive factor. What it's decisive is the content that you write there, and finding those tasty 4-5+ phrases keywords(e.g how to lose belly fat, how to gain some weight).
A long time ago the domain name was the bread and butter for ranking but now it's gone so you shouldn't focus too much on this.
Just find a name that is appealing to you and get started.
Your ideal target is 50 monthly searches and under 100 websites competition for your keywords. How you do this? Using the "Keyword tool" from the tools section.
What I personally did was to create a more broad niche domain name website so i can create any niche from computers(my focus).
I hope it helped you.
