Another Take on The Art of Procrastination.
Geoff and I are both great procrastinators. Each of us procrastinates in different ways, but we still have these bouts when we can't make up our minds to do something in a timely manner.
I'm sure Everyone has procrastinated at one time or other in the course of their lives. Am I right? !!!
As this is our first blog, I have been contemplating (good word for procrastinating, ha ha) for days, trying to think up a topic and wondering what I should say about that topic, and what topic is worth talking about.
I know this is a form of procrastination and that it is senseless, but because we both do not chat on Facebook, in fact we aren't even members of any of the media forums like Facebook or Twitter etc, we are finding it really difficult to put our thoughts into a blog.
So if you're not a writer or part-take in Facebook type chat sessions, then the fear of writing something nonsensical or boring is a really "valid" and a silly reason for procrastination.
I can't help but wonder how many people out there are in the same boat as us - an age-old mindless fear of what people will think of them, or in this case, what people will think of what they write about.
I would like to say that we are Really happy to be a part of the WA family because neither Geoff nor I have ever done anything like this before - chatting or interacting with a large group of people in this manner, whether it is face-to-face or online. That is in a manner that creates a global bond with all kinds of people from different races and nationalities.
In a face-to-face situation, different people don't usually mix because they are afraid of the other persons actions and reactions. Whereas in an online situation, there is much less likelihood of being ridiculed, abused or laughed at (in a derogatory manner) because the sense of "family" in this forum lends us to behave in a more civilised, compassionate and friendly way. This is because we have all come together, our goals are very similar and our thoughts and feelings are of a like-minded nature.
In any case, I'm sure Kyle and Carson wouldn't tolerate any kind of bad behaviour - certainly does not make for a good business.
Finally ... Hopefully by the time we do our next blog, we will have read a whole lot more of everyones thoughts, feelings and expressions and there won't be any need for procrastinating and prevaricating about what topic to choose. Besides the amazing support given by all in this family is what seems to keep us all going.
So thank you everyone for your help and support.

Great blog, I still do a lot of procrastination...how do you not... if you find out how not to procrastinate please let me know! Welcome!
What a great 1st blog! I too procrastinate largely because of one thing - FEAR! Even though I type a lot during my posts, I talk a lot with people sometimes, but there are times when I am literally petrified about presenting on a topic that I really care about. It's one thing to be dismissed when you're just talking about the weather or something, but it's another when you are talking about something that you consider special. I don't want anyone making fun or rejecting that so I end up not saying anything at all. Being able to interact with the WA community first is helping me to work up the courage that I will need to make this business successful. Thanks for being one of the community members who welcomed me and helped me work up the courage to type my first blog a few days ago.
Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging words. It truly makes us feel better.
Fear is truly debilitating.
We have developed a "don't care what you think of me" attitude with people out there (this doesn't include WAers, since we all have similar thoughts, feelings and aspirations), but as you just said, when it's to do with something that's really important to us, it still hurts because we still care what people think of us despite the protection we put around ourselves.
What's great about WA is the community's ability to cheer us up and give us the necessary courage to pick ourselves up, stop procrastinating and move on.
I have only been premium since 5/15. I'm just following the lessons one by one and trying to have faith that it all works out in the end. When that faith gets worried I try and take a short break and write to the community how I feel and that alone helps. When responses start coming in I then build the faith back up that I can do it.
I know what you mean about writing. Ron
