Our Fears of the Big 'C'

There are defining moments in life in our brief passage in time when past experiences and memories urges us to share what little knowledge we may have acquired on this horrific affliction. I have one here to share.

It's serendipity that ignited the drive to propagate my obsession about cancer, with my eldest, Christian, stricken a few years ago with thyroid cancer and my younger brother with throat cancer.

Persistent navigation through the internet searching through its nooks and crannies, I finally happened upon the "underground" information that had been suppressed for ages by bureaucracy. How do you qualify such infraction without somehow feeling disillusioned specially knowing hordes of loved ones and associates passed this way without ever having that chance for a true second lease in life or at least went through their ordeal without so much suffering. And for what? For a possible remission (which may never come) if you survive the next 5 years.

We've-been- there-done-that mantra is now common to all of us who witnessed these painful scenarios repeatedly inconveniencing portions of our existence. My mother and my father died of cancer. My wife's baby brother, ditto. Martin, a close and dear friend. A cousin (who was a doctor and married to a doctor) and her daughter. Another very close friend Arthur (a doctor) and his sibling, Nonong. A cousin of my wife. Several other friends and acquaintances.

The common thing among them is that they went through the traditional treatment which promises "with conditions" a remission (which these poor souls never was gifted with). They suffered for what their specialists recommended. There was no other choice suggested.

Today, I am writing this same transcript to a friend in the Philippines who contracted brain cancer. I encouraged him to consider seriously some important and valuable information from a website that inspired me and reinforced my convictions about the mission I have undertaken.

The website is "www.cancertutor.com".

The originators have been "pontificating" about "cures" for any type of cancer without subjecting the patient to the invasive methods of medical orthodoxy, i.e. without mutilation via surgery, without getting burned thru radiation, and without the toxic impact of chemotherapy.

They wrote that God endowed nature with everything necessary to benefit mankind, healthwise. Traditional medicine termed the natural approach to treatments "quackery". Their reason may only scandalize your good selves.

You might find some truism there. They have a "CURE", not just a treatment for whatever cancer you have. Be informed with their logical and dynamic approach to these "CURES".

Well as they say, psychologically, the orthodox physicians have all the advantages when clients contract this disease. Patients already brainwashed by media, accustomed to make their doctors decide about their health challenges, and confronted by life-and-death situations, had nowhere to go. They are the least informed of this CA plague.

The doctor will sidestep and will not hear of alternative medicine because they were not really prepared for that in the academic institutions. Plus they can be disbarred, vilified by associates, and may have to find other means of employment if push comes to shove. They are hostages to these situations as well. AND if they lack the inquisitiveness or the connections or the information available online they become the very victims of the system.

Anyway I don't want to delve into US history. I believe the Philippines is more liberal concerning medicine and such. I also know we have greater faiths and convictions that extend from the physical to the "metaphysical" like the healing capabilities of some of our faith healers? Explanation is beyond the realm of science and medicine.

We all are aware that when doctors were scarce, our resourceful ancestors have come up with home made remedies that managed a lot of aches and pains and illnesses. Today we pop prescribed pills that sometimes have side effects worse than the cure. Some even caused that final mortal anguish we all will face.

A lot litigations have forced doctors to buy insurance for their practice. I have many doctors in the family who confessed there are still such dangerous medications out there for sale.

Certainly in uncommon times like this, what is there to lose? Traditional medicine will recommend a treatment that only promises 3% cure IF (a BIG IF) you pass the 5-year stage to remission, i.e you survived the 5 years. Meanwhile the treatment will cut you (surgery), poison you (chemotherapy), and burn you (radiation). The information for alternative cancer "cures" are there. We have to take advantage of them to learn for contingencies!

The choice is there. Ultimately the decision is ours to make. Or not!
