Are you writing a forever blog or a trend blog? I'll explain...
I am writing a forever Blog. My Blog is America's Rich History. The History of our country will always be here and it will never change. If you got in on the DVD players way back, your blog might not be getting as many hits as it used to but that is ok. It doesn't take any effort to make the next blog about the next trend and get on with life...lol. :-)
You will also get more click through with a trend blog because they have their wallets out when they are looking for the best blah blah blah to BUY.
My site is giving away free information and they are not automatically looking to purchase so I use eye candy and go from there. My Share of landings on my site according to Google is crazy numbers though.
The 33 amendments to the constitution are going to be finished this weekend. My share of traffic, if appointed to the first page, will be 188,000. I have my first half a million in traffic phases all picked out, all at great standing. All my pages score an SEO of 93 or better. I feel good about it through and through. (Sorry not trying to brag, but it is hard to not seem so...lol.)
But again, I will receive a different clickthrough based on the type of blog I am running. so don't be scared of my numbers. I just happen to be the first person online to teach 5th to 12th graders history in simple terms...IKR...
I plan to write my book here for kids from 5th to 12th grade about every President called, "I Do Solemnly Swear." So I plan to have my traffic reach at least 1.5 million in 3 years. That is my goal. The great news is "Today Is Tomorrows History" so I will have a lot to write about.
Converting Your Blog To A Forever Blog
As we get to post 20 or 30 we realize that we have found who we are as a writer and now we have to go back and revise everything...well worth it but a pain nonetheless.
You may be able to find simple conversions that will make your site a forever site or even just forever posts. This way you can keep on building the one that is already scoring points with Google. Google loves new info so this can be done with simple transitions.
But there again, don't be afraid to build a trend blog as well! Get it built as far as it can go and suck up $800-$1200 a month for a while while you are making the next one take its place. You don't think the big boys here only have one blog, do you? Heck, they give us 10 with the premium membership for a reason...lol.
Important Factors To Keep In Mind.
There are some very very very important factors to always and forever keep in mind no matter what type of site you are building. (I'm going to do both)
- Those important factors are standing right next to you.
- They are your Family
- They are your hope
- They are your dreams
All of these factors are real. And all of these factors are vitally important to each and every one of us. Don't ever give up on any of them and you will succeed, I promise you. If things get heavy, look any of us here at WA up and we will be more than happy to help carry you through.

Love the post, and your website ideas. We all could use more education on our history, not just the kids. Which is awesome you are writing a book for. It'll be twice as nice since you can market your own product. The older I get the more fascinated I get with American history and what they sacrificed. Your site is definitely going to grow and always be relevant.
Ty so much my friend! As I get older, History becomes more important to me as well because my kid's and grandkid's future in this country is so important.
Not too many years ago I realized the importance of our American History. I wanted to know what I was talking about so I studied...
I want to make sure that my grandchildren have something I di that they can point to and say, "That was my Papa"
Not only will they have the book I am writing but will also be able to inherit my sight. Every day I get up and breathe is to make sure my future generations do not have to suffer some of the repercussions of life that I have had to.
I have done many other things but they will just be stories...this will be my legacy
