Well, I thought I'd give another update on how my 100 day challenge is going. If you're new here, then take a look at my blog posts and you'll find more info on it.
I've been doing medical translation for a really great team that came down, for the past three days. I love translating and I love working in the medical field. However, since there have been fewer teams since Covid, people are in a lot of need. Today was a rough one.
First, we had far more people than anticipated. Many of them were elderly and had diabetes or high blood pressure. One woman had varicose veins that had ruptured and caused massive ulcers to the bone on both sides of her ankle. It was pretty horrific and while we cleaned it up and got her set up with medical supplies, the outlook is dire. She's probably going to lose her foot.

Why am I telling you about ulcers and tough days? Well, because sometimes, when we've challenged ourselves to do something major, obstacles pop up. I'm exhausted, emotionally and physically and mentally right now. There were other things that happened today that also took their toll. It would be easy to come home and just watch a movie or sleep
However . . . . we have to keep going even when there are obstacles. And the best way to do that is to know your WHY. So, today, even though I'm struggling, I'm sitting here at my desk, about to dive into working on Replace Your Brain. Why? Because I want to make sure I can keep working with people like the ones I saw today. So I can give my kids a great life, but also teach them to be empathetic and to give them the opportunity to give back to the community.
So far, I have 25 days under my belt. I'm a quarter of the way to my goal, though I fully expect to keep going. As of right now, I have 20 posts on the blog (possibly 21 by the time I'm done tonight) and traffic is slowly growing. Next, I intend to add a lead magnet and start building an email list, then start to promote more on social media. I feel like this blog would do well with Youtube Shorts and TikTok, but we'll see.
What are your obstacles and what is your WHY? What keeps you going, even when you're struggling?
