What are you waiting for? Start changing your life today!
This is a short and simple post to remind both myself (and anyone else who reads this) that there is no time like the present and if that means you need to start working on your dreams now, then get rid of your excuses, and just do it!
Today is the start of the rest of your life - what are you waiting for?
I recently received some sad news from close friends - one who is mourning the loss of her father, and another whose husband has just been diagnosed with cancer. The point of this post is not to seek sympathy for them or myself, but when hearing the news, I was reminded of how precious our time on earth actually is, and how much we could do with the time we have if we let go our of excuses, and just go on with the job!
My friend's father lived into his 90s and was a real inspiration to all those around him. I have no doubt that on reflecting on his life, everyone who knew him would say that he lived life to the full. My other friend's husband is trying to do the same and I found myself thinking, what would I do in that situation, and what is stopping me from going after my dreams right here, right now?
I'm sure I could come up with many reasons why I shouldn't, but when I analyse them, they seem like poor excuses.
So this is where change begins - now. Not tomorrow, or when I've lost weight. Not next week when the weather is better, or next year when this might have happened or this other thing may not have done. It starts RIGHT NOW. Because is it not our circumstances that hold us back, for we can change those; but our mindset and attitude that really hold power over us.
If we make a true and honest decision that we want to change, then we will move heaven and earth to make it happen. If we are paying lip service to others or to ourself, then we will believe our own excuses.
So my question today is - what's it to be?
Start NOW or continue accepting things that we'd really rather change?
Over to you....
