No more new years resolutions.

I am not much of a new years resolution kind of guy. Reason being, I find that I have a very short attention span. Even if I write down my new years goals and work hard on them consistently in January and most of February, I will still let the goals fizzle out by March.

Instead, what I started doing is making monthly goals every month and I stick to it very easily. In the past, I've had many failures with trying to lose weight or save a specific amount of money based on a yearly time expiration. But now that I set realistic and achievable monthly goals, I've been able to stomp my goals into a mud hole. It's all about having a tighter time crunch.

365 days gives you so much time to procrastinate and not enough drive to dominate. If you were told that you had 5 minutes to run a mile, there is literally no way to procrastinate because whether you walk or you run, you're heading toward the goal as long as you start taking strides.

If you were told you had 12 months to run a mile, chances are you would do other things until time to wind down. And once you wind down, something else comes up diverting your attention away forcing you to lose track of your goal.

So, I am suggesting that you take your new years resolution and spread them evenly into 12 achievable monthly goals and you're much more likely to see the success you've always wanted. Even more than that, hold yourself accountable to it by posting your own 12 month goals in the comment section or on your own page.

Good luck and I'll see you guys on the beach sides of the world,

Phil (Frosts)

Hi Phil,

Love it! Good luck with your goals.:)

Hey Phil, I agree with you about New Years Resolutions. I never made them because I am a creature of habit. The idea of short-term goals is great because they are so much easier to keep. John.

I like that Phil. Thanks

I think most of us aren't able to stick with New Years resolutions. That's why the gym is always so crowded in January and by March many have stopped going regularly. I see it every year! I agree that short term realistic goals are better. Good suggestion Phil!
