I've failed so many times, I think I'm successful

If there is one thing I'm good at, it's failing.

I've literally made a goal out of failing.

I've held a number of different sales jobs in my life. I found that one of the biggest stumbling blocks for people trying to be successful at selling is simply meeting and greeting enough people. That was certainly my problem.

It wasn't a fear of rejection that held me back. In fact, I couldn't really put my finger on why I couldn't approach people. Perhaps I simply didn't want to disturb people.

But I wanted to help those people that I knew who were afraid of rejection, so I developed negative goal setting.

Its a pretty simple concept. All you have to do is set a goal for the number of rejections you wish to receive. I thought of it when I was in real estate sales. If it takes a certain number of people to sell a house, then just set a goal to show the house to that many people. If it takes an average of 25 showings to sell a house, then set a goal to achieve 25 rejections.

It can work in any kind of sales business. For example, you are a vacuum cleaner sales person and your company has told you that if you knock on 100 doors, you will get.10 demonstrations, and 1 sale. So, set a goal to be rejected 100 times.

In this kind of business, we simply set traffic goals. For example, 100 visits to your site, result in 10 click-throughs, which equals one sale.

Each article you write gets read 25 times which equals 5 visits to your site. Simple math tells us that we need to write 20 articles to make a sale.

Of course, my numbers are fictional. I have no idea what the numbers are in your niche, nor am I assuming that article writing is your only method of traffic generation. I don't want you to get discouraged.

But i do want you to understand that it will take work. But don't focus on the result. Try instead to focus on the work. Let the results take care of themselves.
