Has Anyone Else Experienced this?
Good day Wealthy Affiliate family!
Has anyone else run into this before? I believe starting from the upgrade when I respond to fellow WA'ers and follow them I find that I'm not always actually following them. I responded to a half a dozen follows yesterday with appreciation and a "follow back." Then today I went through some past messages and noticed I wasn't following at least half of them from yesterday.

Hey, wait a minute.
I'm sure I clicked on those "Follow" buttons, because I have a routine I do each time. I go to the person's profile page. I write a thank you message. I'll add in something if we have something obvious in common and before clicking post, I click "Follow." It's just a set routine, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't forget suddenly. I've been doing things this way for a while now.
Then I started thinking...

There was an instance while I was responding to someone yesterday that I clicked on the "Follow" button and the moment I clicked it, it did a flip-flop. Saying "Following" immediately then changing to "Follow." I thought I didn't hit it right and clicked it again. The same thing happened. I did this one more time with the same results. So what I did then was post my comment and leave the page. I went right back in and clicked "Follow" and it took this time.
Which may explain why I had to go back in and re-follow some folks here today. Perhaps the same thing happened but I wasn't paying attention at those times. Well I was just curious if anyone else experienced similar issues with the follow buttons. Of course I am getting older and this could all be in my head, and that could make for some interesting posts in the future.
Bottom line: If I said I would follow you and it turns out that I didn't; Please drop me a line and I will be happy to address it promptly!
I wish all the best to all of my Wealthy Affiliate family! Keep up the great work, keep writing and making a difference! You are the best!
Kevin

Thanks Jeff!
I'm thinking that is all it is.
Thanks for confirming it's not just me getting old! hahaha

Hi Kevin,
When following someone from their profile by clicking the "Follow" button the system does in-fact follow that user for you. Perhaps though - the UX is not updating in real-time without page refresh so we're going to dig into that and see if there is something not working quite right in that regard.
In other news, we're working on some updates to the commenting area to make it easier to determine who is following who, so this will greatly help with the follow process.
With the significant update to the comment area we saw some features moved to profiles which can create a less efficiency. This wasn't our intention, and it's why we're working on making updates based on feedback just like this.
Thanks for the feedback and for letting us know what is and isn't working for you. We'll dive right into trying to figure out what might be the issue and we'll resolve it.
