English is the largest used language and you could always add a translator as a plugin to help non-speaking English people.
Because you are worldwide with your site you will build this is how I would do it
Enjoy the training

Thanks, Vicky!
Interesting. You might be right, Spanish speakers may translate, but they would mostly do searches in Spanish, right?
I was also wondering if a Spanish-speaking market could be less competitive... although it would be smaller.
Wow...asking the tough questions already...
I suggest you go with what you feel you can serve best. Remember, the "trick" is to build yourself as an authority in your niche. If you think you can do that globally then go for it but, if you plan to target a certain area then find affiliate programs that serve that area and, once you know you can serve that area, build your site tailored to that area.
In your case I'd do a little research to make sure you can find affiliate programs to service the area(s) your targeting and go from there. The "easy" way is go English and go Amazon.com but there's a lot of competition there...narrowing it down may serve you better.
Hey, thanks for replying.
Yes, probably it's easier to go English, especially while I am a beginner.

Picking a niche: global or local?

You could do either. There might be less competition targeting a Spanish speaking market but also less traffic/sales. Finding affiliate programs delivering in your region might be a problem, you would have to do some research before deciding on your niche.
The English speaking market might be more competitive but with more traffic. If you pick a targeted niche and then keywords with low competition the competition isn't a problem.
Right... I am dropping that idea about targeting locally, it looks too hard and would narrow too much the business.
As for targeting Spanish-speaking market or English-speaking market, I have not made up my mind yet.
Thanks a lot for your valuable input!
