Highways and Byways

It's been a while since I last posted, so I'm now popping up like a Whack-A-Mole to update my fellow WA members on my journey.

During some of my research for an article, I stumbled across a picture of an interesting piece of pet furniture. I'd never seen anything like it, and I was intrigued enough to want to know more about it.

What I discovered was that the manufacturer of the item had shut down because of political unrest that made conducting business impossible. Furthermore, I found that there wasn't another manufacturer in the whole wide world!

Very interesting, right? I wanted to know more, and off I went!

Down a rabbit hole, maybe?

Along my journey, I became familiar with Alibaba, Aliexpress, Shopify, Etsy, and a whole lot more that I can't even remember.

I found two manufacturers to produce the two components, then started looking for ways to market my new brain child. And away I went!

First, a website - I incorporated a business I named Kittikraft and built a .com website for it here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Next, how to sell my new product – an adventure all its own!

I found there are several different methods of marketing this product. I could sell from my own website, or use another site like Shopify or Etsy, but all those methods would require me to personally handle and ship the product.

Doing so would mean I would have to lease a warehouse, then fill every order myself, including packaging, shipping, etc.

Way too much physical labor for an old coot like me!

The best way to avoid all those problems was by using “Fulfillment By Amazon”.

So, I won't be selling products on my website. Instead, the site will provide a link to Amazon, where the first item in my planned catalog is now available.

The second product is in development now, and should be in stock at Amazon by late summer or early fall.There's a couple more being designed as well, but they probably won't be available until next year.

And, OF COURSE I'll be staying with WA.It's the BEST!

I'm still planning to make it to Vegas, Baby!

Now, for the unique product I stumbled across, a truly different kind of cat bed, let me present the “KittiUp Kat Kradle”............

I would truly appreciate any comments or feedback about this product, whether you like, dislike it, or think I've gone completely crazy because I took this side trip.
